Judging by your screen name "Badaxe" and the fact that you think advice is instruction only lends credence to the fact you are not a person who can think for themselves and must be placed in a structured environment. I would guess Badaxe would be to damn bad for the Air Force or Navy so what is it buddy Marine, former Marine?

This is the part I am curious about. He takes my name and his mind-reading about what I think, and spins some conclusions out of the air, and then seems to insult the Air Force, the Navy and the Marines, or insults me, not sure.

I did not serve in any of those branches of the armed forces, BTW.

And I was born in Bad Axe, Michigan.
"Way to not Listen" was your introduction buddy. As if i was supposed to copy and paste someone else exact plan, The fact that i only made a small concession would prompt your ridicule. You find me disrespectful for not implementing experienced owners full plan (who most likely you know and respect and probably has helped you and others in the past.) What do you think is that mind reading ? Is that not what you meant by "Way to not listen" .... Who says that in real life ? Has anyone ever said that to you ? a Little Brother or Sister ? an annoying co worker, a policeman, a judge, who ? .. LOL

Bad Axe is the county seat of Huron County, which is basically the tip of the Thumb of Michigan, is one of the richest agricultural area in Michigan, and is also the windiest county in Michigan, which explains the windmill farms up there. Less than 32,000 people live there year round, but in the summer the population easily doubles with the cottages along the lake shore occupied. The population of Bad Axe is less than 3,200 and that's the largest city.
You really are a book report man, lol despite that, the fact Bad Axe is an actual town or city and that is what you use as a screen name is very BadAxe. I like it better than a guitar player.

Picking how many formations to practice is no where near implementing anybody's full plan. It is good advice, though.

As far as the attributes for an OL, I have three sets of ratings I use, one for run blocking OL, one for pass blocking OL, and one that includes both.

The one that includes both is the hardest to get, because everyone looks for high numbers in all the relevant skills, At D-III that is what you need to look for, because no matter how you game plan, you are going to pass at least 20% of the time, even if you want to run all the time. At higher levels, you can choose which players are in for which situation, and you can recruit for run blockers and pass blockers, and the specialists are usually easier to recruit. Their GUESS and WIS ratings are lower, and more coaches will pass them by,

I will always try to get the combo guys, but if I can't I look for the specialists.

"You need to max your players practice, and max your formation IQ." Yes yes, well put. One of my questions still remains. Um where i am in my first year of recruiting, couldn't i over shoot the players potential with to many practice minutes. I am not saying that right.... Could my players max out in their Junior year sort of wasting practice minutes that could've went to formation practice ?

Have you looked at the GUESS website? Pick a team at D-III and look at the individual players ratings growth over four season. http://guess.gdreports.com/

Warner, season 149, D-III, Full Roster Reports, Ursinus (ranked 7), View Full Roster, scroll down to OL, Kevin Brown.

The example here is one of my OL from my D-III Ursinus team. I used the same practice plan all four seasons this guy was on the team, and you can see that his growth was almost straight line, with maybe a single point slowing in the senior year. I picked this player basically at random. Choose other players and see what happened to them.

You will notice a drop off in all player's attribute increase the older they get; relative to their potential. HOWEVER, you don't "waste" minutes because you train all your positions the same. So just because your seniors are not gaining as much as they used to, you can't reduce their practice minutes because your underclassmen at that position would suffer the consequences.

Is there anyone out there who does ONLY practice 1 formation that is NOT a running formation ? are there any cats out there who are only practicing Trips, Shotgun or Pro set ? or do the owners who only practice 1 formation strictly run the ball down your throat all day long ?
Me. I on only practice I form 85%pass. 3-4. special teams.
The best idea is:
  • recruit the best players you can(cores)
  • develop them the best you can(we/pot)
  • Keep the ball in your best players hands for as long as you can before realizing there backup will be better.(fatigue)
  • everything in this game is nothing more than math. recruiting and gameplay, all math
I really like the last part you said about this being all math. I have heard it before and use it all the time with the SO. When I'm on WIS and she asks what I'm doing I tell her I'm working on mathematics. It keeps me out of the doghouse. :)
