"Never mind, Tang. I apologize. I posted before reading your responses. It still proves my point though that there are people apologizing for being born."

And ashamed of their reality. It's crazy IMO.

I hate what my people AND my Country And the US Army and Gov't DID to the Indian population of this land.
It WAS their land.
We took it.
not by fair means.

But I didn't. I now KNOW better. I would not stay silent IF I saw it happen again.
All I can do is let my red brothers and sisters know that I do know how wrong and unfair, and yes, stupid it was.
My people were the fools, in any language, use whatever term you want.

My apology would mean nothing, instead I make sure they know I stand with them, now.
My voice will not be used to oppress them, my words will be used to celebrate their courage and individuality as a people.
I say to My Gov't........... Honor your word, Honor the Treaties and my Gov't's commitments and promises.
Stop speaking with that forked tongue.
Yep.

I get what you are saying. And I see why your approach might work better on a sports website such as this. Say what you want about reddit, but we (I'm a part time mod over there) have some really progressive subreddits, so I tend to forget that I have to tone it down when I head out into Trump country. That being said, in my personal opinion, not acknowledging AND apologizing for white privilege is a slippery slope to a kind of white supremacism (even if it's only internalized and repressed). I will never pretend like I am not ashamed of what my ancestors have done.
Wow!!! So now if we don’t feel guilty, we are closet racists? That’s good to know. I’m glad that people that I’ve never met know more about what’s in my heart than I do. Please tell me more about my follies, so I can be sure to apologize for them.

The only part about my post that may have been misleading was the “a lot of people” part, but that was also prefaced by “I think”. Where it gets tough for anyone to know truly, is that the media and social media sensationalize everything. They are more inclined to air Coreander and RSP’s views than they are Tang, Bob, or Wylie’s views. It sells better. It’s more radical. I’m not talking about right-wing media either. I don’t watch Fox News. Honestly, I couldn’t tell much about what they talk about. I’m talking about the Maddow’s and Don Lemons. I listen to way more left wing media simply because I can’t refute the left if I don’t know what they believe.
Sure, but you just made my argument for me. Extremism is more interesting and it sells. This directly contradicts the argument that the coreander viewpoint is the left viewpoint, which isn't true. Not an insult to coreander, but extremism is far more rampant on the right than on the left. A fascist won the Republican primary, but a socialist couldn't win the Democratic one. Pelosi/Biden represent the Democrats more than Sanders does.

Not to be dense, but I think you stated my point perfectly. If you do not feel guilty about your privilege you probably possess internalized or repressed racist beliefs. It does not mean you are a bad person. It just means you have work to do :)

So, every white person is racist. Some just know it and others don’t. You’re brilliant!
6/9/2020 3:31 PM
White people have a long history of proving that exact point
6/9/2020 3:32 PM
And yes, white supremacist are bad people, so you can’t say that I’m a closet white supremacist and then say that doesn’t mean I’m a bad person. Your argument might literally be the most ridiculous I’ve ever seen.

Please provide evidence. Were the white people in Britain that ended slavery racist? Were the white people in America that ended slavery racist? Were the white during the civil rights movement that fought alongside the blacks to change Jim Crow laws racist? What about the thousands upon thousands of white people that are protesting police brutality right now? Are they racist?

In order of your questions
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes, mostly.
4. More than a few are (but they are trying their best to be allies)
5. See above

I love when new people come to the forums, but you’re kind of stupid so I will no longer be responding to you. Good day.

Took him two days. Impressive. Speaking of Georgia, what is your opinion on the voter suppression, Strikeout?

That opinion will come as quite a shock to my professors at Yale :)

You really fit all of the anti-SJW narratives. College kid who white people probably think is out to oppress them. It will be telling who engages you in conversation and who tunes you out.

Each county handles their own voting. The problems are occurring in Democratic counties. Be careful what you read and hear from the national media.
6/9/2020 3:59 PM
By the way, Tang. I will take your word that Coreander doesn’t represent the democratic base.
