Not just because, but considering the conversation today, it has to be Thompson ... and I would definitely get a team there.

I agree utthead. Actually if no worlds are expected anytime soon, i would rename Rupp World as Thompson World.

I would name it after the greatest basketball player who ever strapped on shoes. Bill Russell. Before you say Jordan, or Lebron. Let's look at his record. He took McClymonds High school in Oakland to two state championships as a Junior and Senior. McClymonds High career championships, two. Nobody recruited him, so he signed with the Mighty San Fran Cisco Dons. As a Junior and Senior, Russell led the Dons two two national championships. Total lifetime championships by the Dons, two. He started playing with the Celtics, winning 11 championships in 13 years and one of the losses, Russell was hurt in a big game during the finals that the Celtics lost. Total championships won by the Celtics, 17. Russell's first year with the Celtics was the first Nba Championship in team history.
i would argue Russell wasn't even top 5 at his position....
