Staying on the Brock theme, I've always liked using the '66 at a triples friendly park. For $4.13M, he gives you 678 PAs, 15 homers, a .288 AVG# and a 3b/100AB# I've suspected plays out better than the assigned 2 (probably rounded down from 2.4 or something). His C range is better than most of his seasons and, best of all from my perspective, the 66 season is his second best SBA/100 opportunities (56.44). Couple his go-go attitude with his .804 SB/SBA, and he always greatly exceeds his RL 74 SB number for me.
I've never tried the '66 version...may use him in an OL.

1984 Juan Samuel may be my favorite lead off hitter right now. This is a slash he just put up for me:
Player SN B G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO HBP SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS STRK L STRK
Samuel, Juan 1984 R 162 715 148 223 29 27 13 127 25 112 11 158 22 .312 .343 .483 .825 4 17

He more than doubled his SB from his 72rl and put up an RC over 130 all for under $5m

What was Samuel's RC27? That's an awful lot of outs.... (514, not including any SF and DP)

My favorites are '21 Carey and '86 Gore. Both get on base a ton. I'm trying '94 Treadway, lots of upside but perhaps not at leadoff.

Those are fantastic numbers compared to real life. What stadium did you use? Without knowing the makeup of your team, it seems he might have been better suited to 2nd or 3rd in the lineup. Congrats on a nice season from him though!

I don't believe a word any of you all are saying

He's on to us, our fraud has been exposed. We sit here, talking amongst ourselves with our sock puppets, using our pervy Nazi voices, spewing untruths.. We've been ratted out. Surely we will soon be sent to the Eastern front. We're done for...

In other news...Husso shut out the Kings, Tarasenko got 2 goals, Perron has 6, the Note move to 5-0 on the young season, so I'm good. Back to you...

Brock was talked about a little while back. Just finished a league using him. A little disappointed, but still not too bad. This wasn't an open league...a 90M theme, so the competition was tougher.

1969 Brock - 4.6M in Busch Stadium.

Only hit .271, but scored 111 runs, had 37 doubles, 8 triples, and 12 home runs. Also stole 54 bases and caught only 7 times. Only 1 "minus" play vs 3 "plus", but 19 errors.

Using the full season 1964 version in the championship round of the WISC. After 52 games (Busch Stadium), hitting .315...on pace for 30+ doubles, double digit triples, and 20 homeruns. 2 "plus" plays, but 7 errors. Overall, pretty happy so far.

I don't play open leagues very often, but will definitely keep Brock in mind from now on. Maybe not as a leadoff hitter, but in the 2-3 slot.

I missed this the first time round:

we played in Hilltop (my favorite OL stadium by far) so there was definitely an increase in offensive numbers from the park.

this was a SB theme team, and I agree he probably would’ve been better at the #2 or 3 spot, but had him and Maury Wills leading off primarily due to PAs and knowing they wouldn’t fatigue.

I understand about the PA situation...done it many times myself.

I'm using 2003 Mark Kotsay in $110 million cap and he's ripping it up!

I'm giving 1894 George Treadway a tryout at leadoff in a few leagues...

Gotta love those triples, Doc!

Yeah, he and the 1894 Connor have oodles of XBH at an affordable price.
