Ohtani will just be a DH
Not sure the best way to incorporate this (from the programming perspective), but requiring a player like 2021 Ohtani or 1918-19 Ruth to only be a hitter needs to change.

These type of players are unicorns and to force them to only do one or the other is basically cutting the horn off the unicorn.
100% agree with this. I've always wondered about the reasoning behind this decision.
it's tough from a coding perspective

I think there are two potential fixes:

1) Create separate hitter and pitcher seasons, so Ohtani the pitcher is one player and Ohtani the hitter is another

2) Allow players who meet some criteria of minimum games at pitcher and minimum games in the field/DH to be used as both pitchers and hitters

1 would be the easier solution from a developer perspective, but it's an imperfect solution, especially for progressives. Since pitchers already can hit, now you can use pitcher Ohtani and hitter Ohtani in the lineup at the same time, which would be a bit much.

2 would be better, but would be a lot harder to implement. You'd have to have both PA fatigue and IP fatigue on the same guy, displayed separately. And you'd need to change the user interface and the back-end code to make it possible to move someone between hitting and pitching. And you'd need logic to determine what to do if Ohtani is in the lineup as both a hitter and a pitcher for the same game, but can only be used as one of those. And probably some other stuff I'm not thinking of.

I can understand why they didn't bother with this until now, as there wasn't a guy who fit this bill in 100 years and it seemed a guarantee it would never happen again. But hopefully they take the time to make it possible without introducing easily exploitable loopholes or breaking anything,

Watching the Blue jays all year, i have to think there will be some high salaries.

Vlad, i assume will be in the $8-9m range
Semien most HR ever by a 2b; assuming A glove and C range probably $6.5m
Bichette with the hits, power, and SB's might be +$7.5M
Teoscar Hernandez might be a steal at a $5m type salary
Robbie Ray's & Manoah K rates will have them in the $8 & $5.5 (lower innings) range
Berrios as mentioned above probably $6m
Romano as a solid closer (probably in the $2.5 range)
Tim Meyza as a LHS will be in the $1.75m
Springer might be a good platoon due to injuries ($3.25m ?)
Vlad is $6.9 and with great Def at 1b
semien is just over $5m
Bo is 5.5ish
Teo is a steal at $4.6
robbie Ray is in the $5's and Manoah with a .201 OAV# high K's and a +100 opp HR and 112 innings is just $3.2!
Romano is at $2m
Meyza is a smidge lower at 1.2M
and springer is just $2.6

seems all came in 10-20% lower than i would have thought. disappointed that the defense was not appreciated though
Is it me or do all the hitters seem like bargains? Vlad Jr at $6.9 million is the inverse of what I thought his salary would be!

Pitchers seem even better prices right now

I was wondering if any of you stats guys know how the 2021 verses 2020 normalization compare as all generated AAA have now become 2021 normalized in place of 2020.
