1998: Anaheim Angels / Seattle Mariners / Los Angeles Dodgers
Surprised this year lasted as long as it did. Pitching isn't great, but with that offense and a couple good pitchers at the top of the rotation, it'll have a puncher's chance.

I almost took them instead of 1996, but I had 1996 ranked higher in offense, defense & pitching. That said, I still almost picked 1998 because I liked the lefty/right balance better.

Well, that was unexpected. Had three choices I was thinking about... and they're all still available. Need to think about this a bit longer.

Man, it was real tempting to grab 1997 with FA Randy Johnson. I thought about putting the team in Colorado. The offense would have averaged 8+ runs per game. The problem is there isn't a single pitcher on the roster that I could bring in to relieve once Johnson hit his pitch limit.

It's ironic that my '53 Braves w/Spahn team in round 3 got hot late and won 11 of last 12 games and that got me an extra team in round 4. This is the result of that. Not sure that was a good thing.

2014: Cleveland Indians / New York Mets / Milwaukee Brewers

He is what I believe the alignment will end up being (with two minor swaps due to my teams being too close in years)...

The AL East rejects the notion of that as a minor swap!

The 2014 and 2016 swap would have less impact on competitive balance.

thejuice6 said in a site-mail to me "... and it would probably come down to which way would keep the closest years together".

So I figured 2010 and 2011 would swap because it's a smaller difference between years (i.e., 2007, 08, 09, 11). Swapping 2014 and 2016 would mean there would be a 4-year difference (2014, 18, 20, 21)

It's his tournament. I'm fine with whatever he decides.
