And the first 7 guys you want are taken? 20 minutes is not nearly enough to find a replacement. Your schedule might be different, but not everyone has that time or flexibility. I understand that sometimes people get super busy at work or with life in general and don’t have the time. However, have you ever actually had your first seven options taken? I don’t know what other people do, but as soon as I make a pick I almost always know who my next target is. I also have a backup in place in case my guy gets taken. By the second round, I usually know who I want for the rest of the draft. Does anyone wait until it’s their turn before deciding who they are going to take? Also, if you know in advance that you will be busy when your spot comes up, that’s when we should either send a proxy or maybe a buddy can text you when you’re up. If someone gets a bad time slot, there are ways to make it work. Also, I’m not talking about doing this at the top of the draft. I’m talking about the bottom of the draft. Say you’re looking to take a 6-7 guy, there might be only 5 or 6 teams that still need a 6-7 guy. There is a good chance that most of the people are drafting in a different price range. There’s no way that your top seven guys will be snatched away when you’re in the 6th round.
