I agree that an early pick is not good (especially this time around). I don't see any team that really stands out to me and I'm sure to get slammed in the 2nd round. I'll take the 1929 Philadelphia Athletics - sitemailing next...

Early pick has some discourse.
I think that the last pool had a lot of big players and there was some superstar teams. This time around, I think that the pool is a bit more constrained and that balance is going to be hard to find. Lots of very good choices on the board, some very hard choices as well. I ended up on the 1949 Brooklyn Dodgers. Sitemailing Next.

Thanks for having me y'all!

good pick PReeves22. The 49 Dodgers were my second choice. In my opinion, the top 4 teams are now off the board. This division is going to be tough.

Three teams that I can't decide between. After a dozen changed decisions, I'm going with the

1979 Los Angeles Dodgers

1959 New York Yankees

Probably the worst NYY team of their 30+ year dynasty period, but seem to be balanced with a number of hitting and pitching options. Would have been a great 4th round pick and may have still been available. What the hey!

They probably would not have made it to you in the 4th round due to certain non-marquee player....

Drafting the 1979 orioles
I grew up a Senators fan and this was probably the team that converted me to becoming an O's fan for nearly 30 years until the Expos moved to DC. I saw many of game at Memorial Stadium and Camden Yards during this time. Mainly the Ripken area and they were always competitive.

Back to 1979. To this day if I hear "We Are Family" by the Pointer Sisters I change the channel. To this day I also hope Omar Moreno's wife choked on that damn whistle she kept tooting on throughout the series (well, not really). O's were up 3-1 and then lost 3 straight - brutal. And yes, the Pittsburgh uni's were UGLY!!
