Universal DH update

Universal DH will be available towards the end of June. Will post a more definitive date as it approaches, but we're looking like June 26 or 27. The update is running through a test world in our QA environment right now. We want to get it to the all star break so we can make sure awards, etc. are working as they should. That timing also gives everyone time to adjust rosters to prepare, etc.

The mechanics will be that each private world commissioner will be able to decide if they want to use it or not. They'll have access to a button in the commissioner tools that can enable or disable at any time.

Public worlds will be controlled by us - if anyone has suggestions on how to better handle those worlds, we're open. Most likely default to enabling the DH.

Are we still on track for June 26 or 27?

Is this happening? As an NL team in a league that would switch I’d like to know if I should sign a DH or not.

It's June 26. Any definitive word on this?

Still waiting on updated implementation info, as we wait to roll to a new season.

We are in spring training, some guys are going to want to acquire DH's. Can we get an update please?

Based on my understanding, switching to universal DH would not happen mid season. In your case, even if they rolled out the universal DH tomorrow, your world would have to wait until the beginning of next season to start using it. Your commissioner would opt in (or out) during the break between seasons.

Wow the implementations of the DH in testing must have been an absolute disaster. I wonder if the new management and team are going to be able to update the game at all.

Even though a world could switch mid-season, why would they want to do that? Makes far more sense to switch to universal DH between seasons.

dyoungquist, I agree. But I'm commish of a world that voted unanimously to go with the NL DL and will start Spring Training games tomorrow. I'd really like to implement it before the real games start, if that's possible. NL teams put their rosters together assuming the DH would be used this season, so it would suck if it doesn't happen or isn't possible.

Universal DH proposed access date of 26,27 JUNE has come and gone without a follow-up of what's going on. SLB live was supposed to be soon a few months ago and it hasn't happened. I sometimes wonder if someday I'll go to log on to check my teams and the website won't be here.

That would be terrible redsfive! Question: if a private league goes public to fill the last couple of openings … will the commissioner be able to still control The DH setting once the league is full and season begins? Why I ask? … Don’t want to go public to fill here on 6/30 and then get stuck with DH when our league voted to have NO UDH. I’m thinking you need to consider this when implementing. Thank you
