Two AL franchises available and three NL. The team breakdowns follow:

  • AL West #1: Franchise record of 1,185-1,083 (.522 Win %) with 6 first place finishes (all in the last 7 seasons, including each of the last 5) and a season 13 World Series victory. Currently on a stretch of 5 straight 100+ win seasons. Only 2 owners in the franchise's history, with the 2nd (zackaryl) running the club for the past 13 seasons. 6 players with 97+ RBI and the pitching staff had a 3.65 team ERA last season. Nothing to pick on anywhere with this franchise, as even the minor league teams only have 2 seasons of 100+ losses in its history (out of 56 possible seasons).
  • AL West #2: 3 different owners have led this team to a franchise record of 981 wins and 1,287 losses (.433). Never had a season above .500 (81-81 in season 4), and there are four 100+ loss seasons on the ledger...BUT - in the last 3 seasons under one owner, the franchise improved from 60 wins, to 64, to 74. The ML roster is filled with young impact players, and the minors have help that is close and also further down the pipeline. The right owner could turn this team from an also-ran to a contender pretty quickly.
  • NL North: One owner (cosmicblob) had been at the helm for the duration of the world until this season. A World Series loser in the NABCL's inaugural season, the team never has been able to replicate the success it enjoyed in season 1 and the franchise overall record stands at 972-1,134 (.462). That being said, the franchise is set up well with both of their 50+ HR guys - who were also 2 of 3 players w/100+ RBI in season 14 - are back, young, and still under team control. Pitching is definitely this franchise's problem, but there are a few impact ML arms on the horizon in the organization.
  • NL South: A four-time bridesmaid, this franchise boasts a record of 1,255-1,013 (.553), 7 division titles and 11 playoff appearances in 14 seasons. Young impact bats abound at the ML level, and more are lurking in the high minors. Can't go wrong picking from the top, and this is the top.
  • NL West: Four different WIS owners have taken a shot with this team, and all had at least moderate success - including a season 10 WS appearance. 5 straight second place finishes on the ledger...can you put them over the top? 1,125-1,143 (.496) franchise record.
