I liked the new Black Keys a lot. More polished effort than I'm used to from them.
Pretty happy they didn't disappoint. They have sort of slid into my #2 spot over the last three years or so and stay firmly entrenched there now. Seeing them in August is going to be pretty badass

They do the buttsecks to you?

Britt Daniel will be resigned to scoring movies pretty shortly.

The National isn't quite there, but I guess I could see them heading there as far as production is concerned. Not that they're overproduced, but you can see a lot of us liking lo-fi stuff based on this thread. I appreciate a certain degree of purity. Racial or not.

I hear you...I really, really dislike their shtick...and I know I'd hate them all on a personal level...but I have to admit I kind of dig the sound..
It's fine in small doses for me. If I hear one song on random on my ipod, I will listen. But I don't think I'd listen to the whole album.

True. We are a pretty biased group I suppose.

They did "who let the dogs out" right?
5/26/2010 7:56 PM
Yes, that album is like a party in your ears.

On a side not, eMusic has really been ******* me off lately and I'm thinking of either canceling or down grading. Thoughts, suggestions, alternatives?

Well... there are the less moral options...

Go!

Some of my top ten from last year that I don't think you listed:

Heartless Bastards, The Mountain--awesome bluesy bar rock with a female vocalist that just dominates...Robusk likes, too.

The Rural Alberta Advantage, Hometowns--I think this was my favorite from last year...I might like it even more now.

Rock Plaza Central, At The Moment....--might have been this one. Great album, but I'm only rarely going to listen to it. Way too heavy.

Real Estate (ST)--You've probably heard this, right? Seems right up your alley.
