So on TSN, they stated that Boston and LA are 'front' runners in aquiring the Thrasher Star!! Flames have basically pulled out. I get the feeling the reason is two-fold: 1) Thrasher most likely want a prospect as well as Dion.... 2) More importantly CAP ISSUES!!! Ilya will demand a contract in area that Iggy is getting... Even trading a high price D-man wouldn't be leave enough clearance to sign the guy to a long term contract.

Instead the Flames have called up the #1 pick..... Heck they can't do any worse!!

nope...but the Oilers do...Atlanta isn`t that hard up to take Phagoof

They do??? Where? Or are they like all the other prospects they've had over the past 5 years and got for Smyth etc.... Potential never realized!! Not that the Flames are any better along those lines and the only top pick that has 'panned' out is Dion... rest have become 'role players' etc. Even Dion has faded the last season and a half!!!

I have never been one to believe in prospects since you can just hit the FA market and we have always sucked at developing our prospects, but at least it could give some false hope... I mean look at the Oilers that last couple of years.. hanging on only with the hope of all their potential... too bad it wont ever pan out

well....don`t get to see many Oiler games...but if they had Hemsky and the aforementioned....be a lot closer than you would like to think

1-8-1 in our last 10 and we are still sitting with 58 points and 6 games over .500.. sure its 9th spot, but there are worse situations...

Its the trend I am not liking and that is creating the panic, especially after a rare strong start to the season

Oh of course it would be closer.. but we were running wild over the Oil with those guys in the lineup, they have given us 10 of our 58 points alone

Flames are funny....Kipper wasn`t Kipper last year when they could score...and this season is the complete opposite

of the Flames games I`ve seen J-Bo won`t or is not allowed to cross his own blueline and Joke inen is invisible
