Former Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall was allegedly involved in an incident that left one woman bruised, the New York Post reports.
According to The Post, the NFL athlete was attending a birthday bash at a Manhattan nightclub with a group of friends after attending a charitable event.
Around 4 a.m., the birthday girl Christin Myles, 24, left her upper floor party spot to greet a friend downstairs. When Myles tried to return, she was not immediately let back up. A bouncer reportedly told Myles that Marshall, 27, and another football player were fighting and getting thrown out of the club.
After, Myles found Marshall and the unknown athlete arguing with her friends. Marshall allegedly hit Myles in the left eye. It wasn’t clear if Marshall meant to hit the woman or if he was aiming for someone else, reports said.
The Post said Myles filed a report about the incident.
“While at the function, a fight broke out not involving Marshall or his friends,” Harvey Steinberg, Marshall’s attorney, said in a statement early Wednesday. It was announced Tuesday that Marshall was traded to the Chicago Bears.
This is not Marshall’s first run-in with the law. According to The Post, he has a history of arrests that includes disorderly conduct, drunk driving, and domestic violence. Marshall was stabbed less than a year ago in the abdomen with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute. Marshall’s wife, Michi Nogami-Marshall, was arrested but charges were later dropped
