I wonder how this forum would have went down if it was never labeled CHEATER CONFIRMED, before anyone knew which recruiting action they were using to “cheat”
Tough to say. I was too busy lighting torches and handing out pitchforks to consider the implications
And I’m the one catching the most wrath? Haha. It’s like in any sport when there’s a scuffle, the first guy gets away with the push/shove. The guy that follows up gets the flag or foul called!

Is it my fault I'm so charming and charismatic?

Swenske's St. John's team has lost in the Elite 8! The saga ends.

SimAI took his team on their deepest run in 13 seasons.

plumpy had "it" call it charisma or whatever but he had it. my memory is that he was a really good and knowledgeable coach but would have guessed he had no more than 5 nc. my story has always been that his last nc was against me in year 0001 of tark. as i recall it, he just kinda went awol and disappeared midway thru the year. and he was a huge forum presence so his absence was very noticeable. so his team, which was pretty good but not great limped along and got into the NT (remember year 0001 means every player on every team was pretty much random and zero of "your" recruits... lots of parity) still no word from him and his team keeps chugging along,,, and meets my hobawilly team in the finals and beats us, and is never heard from again. at least thats how i remember it.

but... in researching it just now, the guy that beat me was plumpy3 i cant recall if the original plumpy was just plumpy? or plumpy3. and if the orginal was plumpy, not sure if this was an alias of his or people screwing around (there were several instances of coaches whose name was very similar to a previous coach but was a totally different guy and often used to post and confuse people.

also this plumpy3 only ever has the one NC also he came back for a few years around season 100 of tark but was awful (maybe bought 5 pack and decided he didnt llike it and let the team ghost?) i feel like i vaguely remember that

two things plumpy was famous for there was a picture of him floating around the forums where he was in a gorilla suit, also he must have had some kind of webcrawler program,,, if you posted in the forums (any forum) any of several keywords like plumpy or pizza or ice cream,, he immediately posted. immediately.
and he did some kind of thing with exclamation points like " Hello!!!!!!!1" always with the 1 at the end

history class dismissed
those were the days.

I’m not sure why site staff decided now was the time to stop any discussion (some may say to never censor, some may say they should have controlled the conversation sooner…), but awfully strange to do it now.

Anyway, I never got a chance to answer snewell’s offer for a D3 conference. I appreciate that, sne, and might take you up on it in a little bit. For now, I’m gonna take a little time and see if I miss it. But, again, thank you for the offer, and if I play again, I’d be honored to join you in a conference again.

Also, as some have suggested, those that don’t see this as a harsh punishment must just not have any real connection to the programs they’ve built. And, that’s fine. But, I did. I had been at Hillsdale (Allen) for 99 seasons and North Alabama (Crum) for 97 seasons. Neither of those programs had I ever used the RS/non-RS actions and now I’ve lost them. Some may say it’s a fair punishment for what transpired, and while I strongly disagree, I respect your opinion. But to say it’s not an incredibly harsh punishment is just not understanding how some of us view this game.

I sitemailed another coach criticizing the strange timing to abruptly end all conversation in the pinned thread, so I agree completely with you.

Stange stuff all around...

Almost as if they don’t want to hear any more conversation after the initial praise or be held fully accountable for their actions once they are put into proper perspective…I dunno?

Seemed to me like it had devolved into finding out what Spud was up to, etc. Way off topic.

It might be because we started to get into all Spud's shenanigans where he's done shady stuff in the past and is a major hypocrite for judging folks in this situation. I'd completely ignore him if I were you.

For the record, I do think the penalty is severe but I respect the decision. I wanted them to do SOMETHING about Swenske and was pretty annoyed when it was brushed off. I would have been fine if the rosters were just nuked, for what it's worth.

But, like I mentioned before, I'm glad they took foul play seriously as this did impact many users (myself included). No one is going to agree on the punishment, thats the way it goes. But I hope that if something happens again, it will be taken seriously from the very beginning so the mob style isn't necessary.

Oh, I see. Ya I wouldn’t want any lack of action on others to come to light after dropping the hammer on polite, long-term, respected owners either if I were them. Makes sense

Oh sorry, didn't mean to imply that. Just that the conversation was going to devolve into bickering with Spud that's very off topic. Which will probably happen on this thread any minute.

Although with that said, I find the comment about "making sure family members is known" to be odd. We got people running around with hidden alt IDs and they do nothing about that UNTIL they break the 1000 mile rule and someone catches them.

But someone could have a d1 team on the East Coast and can help his D3 team for his hidden alt ID on the West Coast and no one would know. And it wouldn't even be against the rules.

Ban all bs hidden alt IDs. Period. They're way worse than a bunch of family members playing together IMO.

i agree... i think it was the spud nonsense. i had forgotten about coach spud's past but i was really starting to wonder what was up with the guy. there's a pretty wide range of at least somewhat reasonable opinions but mr. no teams didn't seem to have any of those.

i also think they had pretty little appetite for spending more time on the issue, which i 100% respect. now, off to print some FREE DOOGAN t-shirts...

If it were an anti-spud move, I guess I can understand that. I've had the guy bliocked for so long I don't even pay attention.
