I would think that designating for assignment with waivers is the answer for instant room on the 40, isn't it Mike?

Two 3 AM cycles must pass along with a 48 hour minimum.  I assume it's done like that to avoid having someone waiver players at 2:59 AM in order to leave them out there the absolute minimum time.   I would designate without waivers to remove players from the 40 immediately.

That's what I would have done initially but that isn't the question that was asked.

That is not a question but there's no need to designate today.  The waiver process will be complete before the 30th.

I'm certainly considering that as an option on Saturday.  Yanks/Tigers on FOX at 1.   Figure I'll have a cookout with a few friends.   If we drink enough before 6, we'll probably forget about the NCAA tourney.  Or, maybe, be drunk enough to care.

After ST.  Not sure if it matters but I don't promote until the Opening Day marker shows.
