Giroux was just sent down to the Phantoms. I don't disagree with this but it just looks like they gave him almost no chance to make the team. He played maybe 3 games while Downie played all and even Nodl who is much more of a long shot played more games with the Flyers this pre-season.
I was watching the game on the webcast last night and it looked to me that when Downie went down he protected his head by landing on his shoulder. I think Stevens said we should know how long Downie is out some time today.

Need to sign a veteran off the waiver wire for stability. Schneider would have fit the bill nicely, now he's festering in ATL

Schneider is way too expensive.
Problem is we have a lot of depth at D but way too young. I think we will see Sbisa for a couple of games but most likely not past the 9 that they can have him for before returning him back to Juniors. I could see the Flyers trading a forward to SJ for McLaren

Sbisa looked good once he calmed down but this team is way too young on the blueline.

Alberts is a serviceable defensemen, not a top 4, but decent defensive depth.
