Additionally, the team went from averaging 1.59 HR/G to .94 HR/G along with an 80 point drop in OPS...

Crawford is hitting exactly how I would expect him to hit. Anything more and it would be pure overachievement. Low contact/splits would be high 40s/low 50s...this guy has 28 contact for the love of God and a vR of 41. Don't really care what his eye is, he shouldn't be in the big leagues and if you do put him there, then low-.200 BA and sub-.300 OBP is exactly what you deserve. Swing for the fence hitter doesn't mean he should be hitting lots of homers with a low average/OBP, it means he just swings at everything and occasionally connects.

You are acting like your opinion about players is a carved in stone fact. This has never been true for the history of the Game.

Just because you want it does not make it true.

Low .200 BA and sub .300 obp is what I would expect from this guy and that is what he has given. However 93 power rating is top of the line and add in the 85 eye this player should create good power numbers. I would expect good walks, high strikeouts, low BA, subpar OBP and good power. He has everything but is lacking the good power. 59 singles, 12 doubles, 3 triples, and 7 homers is not what I expect from a player with a 93 power rating. He should have less singles and more homers to go along with that low BA and subpar OBP.

can't complain about the .400 avg though.

You are right, you can't complain about the average, he is a awesome singles hitter.

To be fair I am seeing some players with 90 plus power having good seasons, but it seems to me that players with 90 plus power are no better than players with 80 plus power. I might be wrong, but it seems to me that players with 90 plus power are being hit with some kind of nerf that lowers their value too much in comparison to players with lesser power.

* passes plague a tissue * I felt the same way when they adjusted speed/sbs mid season on one of my teams and probably cost me a playoff spot that year. Make adjustments.

I have a guy with 74 power slugging less than .400 - it's just the way it is. You just have to adjust the way you view players. The only thing I expect is that the salary demands better come down if the production is going to come down. They can't ask for money based on previous production...well, I guess they can, but they shouldn't.

Why would I make adjustments? It's not even my players that I am listing. Passing a tissue is a dumb thing to say. . I see something I think is wrong I am going to point it out whether its my players, your players, or some random teams players.

Now see this guy is one that I would expect to have a BA about .310, OBP .360, and slugging low.500s. The problem is that WIS created a system in which people's expectations are that everyone should be hitting a ton of homers. This was caused by generating too many players with top-level talent and a over-weighted power rating

How many homers do you think that guy should hit in a season?

Jason Bay/Jason Werth-ish which would fetch him in the mid-30s. Again my projections are being based on what we see happen IRL. Only 5 guys hit 40+ HRs last season.

Here's a guy on my team with about the same ratings...I would expect O.T. Kelly to do slightly better. I play in Salt Lake BTW

That is about where I expected. 30-40 homer range with 25 being a bad season and 45 being a breakout season.
