That rule is crap. You can assume a DP with Hardy batting but not with Kendall?

Bill Hall may need to be added as well... 10 GIDP in 210 ABs this year despite his amazing K rate.

Chris Smith, who had actually pitched reasonably well (though almost exclusively in losses) was sent to Nashville to make room for David Weathers.

Doug Melvin fielded a question this morning about reports that the Red Sox want to make a waiver claim on JJ Hardy by saying he couldn't comment and that he is not motivated to move JJ at this time. They're waiting for his hot streak. Or something. I think he said that they had not put JJ on waivers yet.

I'm 4-5 now on the year. I thought I had been to some pretty bad games but this was definitely the worst.
8/11/2009 11:57 PM
Hey!!! I was there too. 4-3 now. At least we saw Bill Hall hit a homer.

Will the Brewers see .500 again?

The smart money says no.

JJ Hardy optioned to Nashville, Alcides Escobar called up.

Bill Castro fired; Chris Bosio is new pitching coach.

BILL HALL DFA'D!!!!!!

I may have seen his last home run as a Brewer.
8/12/2009 12:34 PM
Hendry will try to get him, methinks.
8/12/2009 12:36 PM
You can have him for a bag of batting practice balls.
8/12/2009 12:39 PM
Holy ****. Hardy to AAA? I did NOT see that coming.
8/12/2009 1:00 PM
Why the hell was I at yesterday's game and not today's? I want to see the start of the Escobar era.
8/12/2009 1:03 PM
i'd love to see the sox acquire hardy
8/12/2009 2:37 PM
Melvin says Hardy demotion is not precursor to a trade and was not made to delay his free agency. I guess he's expected to come back after September 1 at the latest.

Last night's loss put Melvin "over the edge" (his words).
