How are we going to get to 25 players with 21 rounds? Can someone refresh my memory on how we will fill out our roster. Thanks. May effect what I do here...
I asked a Gypsy woman about this (cost me a dollar!) and she said that Rounds 21-24 will be started from the remaining teams using randomly generated numbers. She said the draft order will randomly regenerated too since everyone has been top dog in Rounds 1-20 (though there was no Addie Joss left to select first in round 20). She said any remaining reverses could be played as normal and, of course, wild cards too. She also said Yaz_Benders would pick first in Round 23 (cost me 5 dollars!).

My assumption was that rounds 21-25 would just be a draft of all remaining players. When we had a 24-person UNO draft then we would just do that for the 25th round however now we have 5 rounds leftover instead of 1.

Bastan had sent a sitemail out saying rounds 21-25 would be with unused, eligible teams chosen by random.org, with a serpentine draft starting with a random order . But I recall seeing a post or sitemail (can't find that one) saying Round 25 would be as it was in the past, with any undrafted players from eligible teams available. The order for that round would be determined by when each owner used both his wild card and reverse.

Doesn't that give an enormous advantage to whoever has the end picks in that snake draft and really screw whoever ends up with the middle picks? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding how it will work.

It could be a big advantage or disadvantage, depending on what franchises come up. It was not stated in the sitemail or anywhere I can find whether a reverse could be used in those four rounds, but THAT would be a massive advantage. And yes, I would agree that teams in the middle are hosed in this setup other than not having to worry about being stuck with $3.8M worth of Vern Kennedy.

There might be better alternatives to serpentine for the four rounds. Teams could be placed into blocks of five to spread things out more evenly, with each group of five picking 1-5 in one round, then 6-10, 11-15 and 16-20. So a team might pick 3rd, 8th, 13th and 18th intend of 3rd, 18th, 3rd and 18th. That would give each team an early, early-mid, late-mid and late pick. A reverse option would completely much up the fairness of that plan, though.
