I haven't heard any news since this morning.   I know there was some concern that it was too gruesome.   I also think the WH relayed about half a dozen stories on how it all went down.   The WH will change their mind if the sudden bump in approval ratings makes a quick u-turn.

Both CNN and FOX reported that it was up 6-8%.   So I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers.

Edit:  While fact-checking to make sure I wasn't insane, most sources are saying up to 57% from 46% last month.    So 6-8% is low.   You may want to ignore the source that said 1%.

The numbers you are mentioning are over the past month.  The 1% number is from immediately before and after the bin Laden kill (from Friday to Monday), which one can assume is directly attributable to Sunday's activity.

So I should pay no attention to the hacks at CNN?

At this point, no.  I know Obama was below 50% for quite some time.  I know he's above 50% now.   No matter how you slice it, it's more than 1%.

My wife called me at work this afternoon to tell me that as she was backing the SUV out of the garage to run an errand, the back window of the vehicle spontaneously and inexplicably shattered into millions of pieces.  She had absolutely no idea how it happened.

When I got home later this afternoon, the first thing I saw was all the glass in, on and around the vehicle.  The second thing I saw was that the door frame on the left side of the garage door had been pushed out around four inches.  Almost as if it had been hit by a woman backing an SUV out of the garage to run an errand.  When I pointed this out to my wife, with the assurance that I was pretty sure that the door frame was in good shape the last time I looked, she said that (a) it wasn't her, and (b) she had no idea how that could have happened.

Seeing that my wife is an honest woman who would never miselad me (or anybody) about any accidental transgressions on her part, is it safe for me to assume that this was part of an al Qaeda retaliatory attack on the USA? 

Should I contact the Department of Homeland Security?

A tame rabbit was on our property yesterday, so I scooped it up, caged it and put up signs trying to find the owner.

See if it will eat a pork chop.  If it doesn't, kill it immediately.
