Roy Mitchell with a 4 hit shutout as we beat FSJU 4-0. Second time we beat Cy Young this season. Mitchell goes to 12-4. Cy Young is now 15-6.

We got 2 runs in the bottom of the first on an RBI double by Cullenbine and an RBI single by Agganis, who gave Hosmer a day off. Bottom 5 we got one on another RBI hit from Agganis. Bottom 8 we got an insurance run on an RBI hit from Mitchell.

W-L-W-L-W-L-W-L-W-L - 10 games in a row now without back to back wins or losses. This time we got crushed 14-3 as Mogridge got hammered for 8 ER in 5.2 innings. Cy Morgan pitched well for them and got the win.

A-Rod was 4 for 5 with a HR, 3 runs and 2 RBI. Marte with a single and double and 4 RBI. HR's also from Ruth, Ramirez and Martinez. For us Simpson had 3 hits and Boudreau had 2 hits, including his 39th double.

Series finale with FSJU this evening. They have 1906 Barney Pelty (8-13, 3.38) on the hill, and we go with Sam Leever (1-0, 4.91). Our bullpen will be light with 2 of the relievers having to throw a lot of pitches in this last game.

The revolving door continues. I just waived Mogridge after 3 bad starts, and also Perez. Picked up 2015 Carlos Martinez and his 130 ERA+. and also picked up 2015 Daniel Hudson.

First game against LAD is a 10-4 win. Ruffing goes 8 innings for the win and gives up just 3 unearned runs. Daniel Hudson gets into his first game for the team and goes one inning allowing one run. Tony Gonsolin (2-5) takes the loss, goes 4.2 innings, 5 runs, 4 earned.



LAD got the 3 unearned runs right away in the first on Muncy's 3 run HR after Leach's error on the first batter had prolonged the inning. We came right back with 3 in the bottom of the inning on an RBI double by Boudreau and a 2 run HR from Cullenbine. Then 2 more for us in the second on an RBI triple for Speaker and an RBI single by Boudreau. 5-3 us.

We got a stick in the 6th on another RBI double from Boudreau, his 41st double. Then we got 4 more in the 7th to put the game away. A two run single from Hosmer, an RBI singe from Helms, and another RBI hit for Boudreau, his 4th RBI hit of the game. The first batter Hudson faced, Will Smith, parked a HR to lead off the 9th. Hudson then struck out Muncy and Gallo and got Barnes to groundout to second.

THREE STARS
1. Lou Boudreau - 2 doubles, 2 singles, run, 4 RBI
2. Red Ruffing - 8 innings, 2 hits, 3 walks, 3 unearned runs.
3. Roy Cullenbine - 2 for 5, 2 run HR, run scored

Game 2 vs. LAD Monday afternoon. They have lefty Julio Urias (4-7, 3.46). We are giving the ball to newcomer Carlos Martinez, in his debut for the Rebels. Speaker and Dickey will each get a day off against the lefty.

Back to W-L-W-L again, we just lost 7-2. Urias with a great start for the 1in, one run in 7 innings. Carlos Martinez's debut was bad, 6 ER in 5.2 innings. Let's see how long he'll last on my roster :-).

Nothing nothing for 3, then LAD scored 6 unanswered runs in the next 3 innings. We finally scored single runs in the 7th and other, and they got one more in the 8th. Lux with a double and a triple, 2 runs, 2 RBI. Hosmer was 2 for 4, HR, 2 runs, RBI.

The series finale with LAD this evening. They've got Buehler (6-7, 2.87). Roy Mitchell (12-4, 2.99) for us. I expect Roy to enter the top 5 for Cy Young soon if he keeps this up.

We won the LAD series, taking the third game just now by a score of 5-2. No surprise with Roy Mitchell (13-4. 2.97) He went 7 innings and gave up just 2 runs. He pitched out jams beautifully as he allowed 9 hits, but no walks in his 7 innings. We got 12 hits and 4 walks against the loser Buehler in 7.2 innings. That's a WHIP of 2.09.

In the first Speaker singled and stole second, and then scored on a single by Boudreau. We put up a 3 spot in the 4th on RBI doubles by Hosmer and Mitchell, and a SF from Speaker. We added an insurance run in the 6th on an RBI single from Helms. 5-0 now. LAD finally got on the board when Trea Turner cracked a 2 run HR in the 7th. Mike Fetters came in to start the 8th and went 2 scoreless innings for his 9th save.
