My power went out for 4 1/2 hrs last night and I missed game 4 of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

In Canada, does that not entitle me to some sort of compensation?

I think you get a free mortgage payment from the government.  Don't spend that $26(American) all in one spot.

Self injury hospitalizes 17000 a year in Canada

Isn't that just a mind numbing stat?

Is "mind-numbing" and "Canadian" redundant?

How far does a world have to stray from what you thought it was to cut bait?

Is there any way to right the ship without a major meltdown?
6/9/2011 4:57 PM

Since parts of Canuckada have electricity, 46 canucks hurting themselves every day seems low.   I assume they're not including the ones that die out of respect.

"Canada" and "mind" shouldn't be used in the same sentence unless you're explaining that they shouldn't be used in the same sentence.

You know me.  It doesn't have to stray too far for me to jump ship.  It's an internet game, if you're in a world and you don't really care to check in, it's probably not where you should be.
I've not found one.   People are usually comfortable with what's going on.  They have to be made uncomfortable in order for the point to be made.   Even that may not work if you're a one-man show.

Can Vancouver remove the shame of being a Canadian city that has not won Lord Stanley's Cup as a member of the NHL?

Lord Stanley's Cup:

I don't even know why it's considered "winning" when you get one.

why can't the heat win?

I don't watch the NBA but it seems like LeBron is a ***** crying about some personal problem.   Maybe Delonte West is nailing his momma again.

do you think they will win the next 2 and claim their first title?
6/10/2011 8:35 AM
I hope not.

T-storms knocked out power at my house at around 5pm last night, and it was still out when I left for work at around 6:45am this morning.  Since we're on a well, no power means no water, so I was not able to shower this morning.  I've already warned my co-workers to approach me with extreme caution today.  Is there any other advice I should give them?
6/10/2011 8:54 AM
I would think they always approach you with extreme caution when they're forced to interact with you.  Tell the dudes you might grab their weiners.   They probably already know it but another warning can't hurt.

Is tec telling people "don't come near me" somewhat the equivalent of "don't eat that turd laying on the grass"?

Do you really need to tell people that?
