That's a huge, huge loss....Even with the depth down the middle, Staal is not easily replaced being the number 1 penalty killer and working on the 2nd power play unit.... I'm sure Adams will get more PK time now, but who's going to center the 3rd line and play on the power play?

Ugly today. First 10 minutes were great, then we crumpled.

well, i felt the pens outplayed montreal most of the game. just didn't get many quality chances on net. really missed staal on the second powerplay unit. anyone else think crosby has the flu or something. he just didn't have the energy he usually does. hope he doesn't have an undisclosed injury. i think montreal was lucky to take that one. i'm not too worried. :>

You shouldnt be ..seeing as your team didnt even make the playoffs..
5/2/2010 6:15 PM
i've been a fan of the pens for over twenty-five years randle. the fact that your tiny brain is unable to count to two let alone understand liking more than one team is meaningless. :>

thats so lame godmike, is it the Flames or the Pens? i know your that kid that we all knew in elementary schooll who's favorite team was whoever won the cup the year before ,but cmon your older now, give it up..your a fence sitter..who is your favorite team? Pens or Flames? dont sit on the fence..make a decision

Anyway...... The Pens looked bad today. It's bad enough they're facing the hottest goalie in the playoffs and playing from behind, then they keep trying to make pretty plays instead of getting the puck deep...It was just like game 1 against Ottawa. They're going to have to get gritty again to win this series.

Agreed. When they played physical, they dominated. Banged bodies, put bodies in front of the net. Halak can't stop what he can't see.

Wow that was by far the ugliest 3-1 win I've ever seen. Other than the 3 goals I don't think I even remember Montreal being in the Pens zone.

Also, everyone here in Montreal is making a big deal about Halak's performance but I really didn't think it was spectacular. He was solid, yes, but not really anything special. it just seemed like everything just kind of hit him and the Penguins got absolutely no traffic in front. If NHL goaltenders see the puck, they'll usually stop it.

i agree andru. halak didn't look spectacular or anything. he didn't play badly at all, but he didn't win the game for them either. the habs did do a good job of keeping pucks away from the front of the net. closed up rebounds when there were any and blocked a bunch of shots, but overall they didn't look that great to me sitting on their heels for two periods praying the pens don't score. if the pens got a couple more bounces their way, or even if a couple bounces hadn't gone montreal's way, the pens could easily have won that one. if montreal is serious about this series, they really have to pick up their game. i hope they don't of course. :>

and randle, i've decided you are no longer a fan of the canucks, because apparently other people are allowed to dictate whether or not you are a fan. kinda sucks for you too, as they may actually have a shot at going all the way this year. if you're nice though, i may let you become a fan again next year. :>

MAF!!!! that's all i have to say about that.

WOW! And I thought Halak stood on his head and made some incredible saves tonight.

Great game by Fleury and exceptional 3rd period by Malkin. But can someone please explain to me what kind of coach puts on a line of Lapierre, Moore and Bergeron when he's down by 1 with 2 minutes ? Jacques Martin makes some confusing decisions sometimes.

Wishing I could personally deliver punches to the head of all the Fleury doubters in this town.

Staalzy can't get healthy soon enough for my liking.
