So we are down to 3 points of information about what the update was supposed to do.

1 The little update note in the Forums. To me this indicates a minor tweek that would have little game impact.

2 The chat just after the update. Again this seems to indicate a minor adjustment. Maybe a little deeper than before, and going a little deeper.

3 Ticket Responses. Very confused.

Where are any of you getting that this was suppsed to have a huge drop in total HRs across all worlds?

Again 'end of steroid ere' = big drop. How do you read that to be a small change?

I don't know if the change is working as intended, of course, because there is no earthly way that any remotely intelligent conclusions can be formed from fractions of seasons or handfuls of players.

However, it may not be working as I imagined!!!!!!!! Aargh!!!!!! Aargh!!!!!!!! Aargh!!!!! Wail and woe, wringing of hands!!!!! Aargh!!!!!!! The sky is falling!!!!!!!

There, I just saved a lot of people a lot of trouble by summing up 28 pages of thread. Happy New Year, everyone.

Preferably one without wifi.

Really? Playing with the engine to get the statistical numbers they want instead of addressing why people are playing power hitters over defensive players is getting it right? I think it's the lazy way out of a problem.

What about those of us that spent season after season building a team based primarily around power which is now far less valuable? How is this update fair for me? Honestly unless I get some sort of credit or financial compensation I most likely will not be back because the lineup I worked so hard to build will not be successfull in this new system.

You have to be effing kidding me.

You built a one-dimensional team, and now you want MONEY because your team isn't more well-rounded?

What a joke.

Sadly, there will be people bailing on teams for this very reason...or at least using it as an excuse to bail.

Yep. I've already seen it. But I think people are really missing something with this last update. You can't play C/DH at 1B, 1B in LF or LF in RF any more. The negative plays/errors are team killers. So a lot of these power guys who aren't hitting as many homers are just as useless because there's nowhere in the field for them.

I have always focused on 2 things, Fielding and power. I play SSs at 3b, 2b and CF. I have always played solid defensive people 1b (my 60 hr guy that was mocked has 2 gold gloves) and at both corners.

I now have a number of people that are much less valuable. Some of them have long term contracts. I also have people all across my minors that have power and defense.

This isnt an issue of one dimensional.

This is an issue of making a major change without warning, or possible intent.

You need to learn a thing or two about reading comprehension. Seriously. Being one dimensional or well rounded has nothing to do with it. I I built a team that was quite competitive under the rules at the time and then WIS changed the rules in such a drastic way that my team most likely wont be nearly as good or as valuable because of the rules change. How is that a joke? They pulled the rug out from under me. I was successfull in the old ratings system. They made the changes not me.

I built pitching staffs based on the old DUR/STM engine. The change was just as drastic. I had 4 teams, with many players on long-term deals, at the time. You adapt. WifS has never said "We will never change the game engine."
