I won't be sad to see a Boston team out of the playoffs. Enough already from Beantown!

I watched the game, and for the first time in quite a while I saw the team that I watched all season. They played a complete 60 minute game.

The slash to Chara at the end of the second by Jokinen was bad, I am sure Jussi will be looking over his shoulder Tuesday. The sucker punch to Ward at the end of the third had to be one of the worst I've seen in a long time. Maurice's comments about that hit were unexcusable. He should be parked in the press box for a game.

Ward the game with 2:47 remaining after Walker punched him in the face. Walker was given a misconduct, a fighting major and an instigator penalty.

Hurricanes coach Paul Maurice laughed off the possible repercussions.

"Scott probably has sore knuckles," he said.

Asked whether there will be a fine, he added: "I may have to sell my truck

Are you refering to the one where the giant baby went down like he was shot, wallowed around for 5 minutes and then played the next shift? That was pretty comical.

Apparently you missed where he went to the dressing room, with a few minutes in the second, and was not even on the bench at the very beginning of the third. That was quite a stretch between those shifts. What was comical was Cole crying at the other end of the ice because he got pushed down, perhaps you were confused by the two.

I am in no way defending the punch by Walker, but Ward can't do the things he does and not expect retaliation. I like Ward a lot (I'm practically his neighbor), but he is not above playing a little dirty. In a testy game like that and after the extra curriclulars he dished out, especially to Cullen right before the punch, he knows he's gonna get it and he didn't protect himself.

Walker was third man into the tie-up. He had his hands tied up in Cullen's sweater, what was he supposed to protect himself with when Walker skated up and took the cheap shot? Ward did not even have his gloves off at the time. I will agree that Ward, along with practically every player on the ice will try to get away with things if they can, but that was a cheap shot, no way around it. Paul Maurice's comments about it are worthy of a trip to the pressbox for a game also.
