Just to keep the count updated - with jabar 13...with gollum (headline) 14 yes votes.

Oh my God, I have so much to read and try to figure out.

For now, put me down as "good with whatever" for engine change, but "HELL NO" for shootouts.

The new draft board is going to heavily favor certain GMs.

Any ideas if the new engine will increase or decrease offense? G-D-it there's a lot to absorb here.

Alrighty, something seems off with my 1st round selection in this draft. Was really looking forward to the draft board thing but ...well check out what happened.... see if you think I got shafted on this.

I had the following 6 players on my "draft board", in this specific order.
1. D) Lloyd Huikko
2. D) Duvie Papponen
3. D) Jan Rintaluhta
4. C) Hooley Tuisku
5. C) Zellio Nasarow
6. C) Nevin Mertineimi

Kingston is drafting 7th overall for this draft.

I logged on after round 1 to see if I lucked out and got any of the prefered 6 guys I had listed on my draft board.......thinking with my 7th pick, I should have gotten one of them thinking the only way I wouldn't get one is if all 6 of my draft board players were taken by the 6 teams picking ahead of me, slim chance that would happen.

So I ended up with D) Zellio Rouvali...... not the Zellio I was aiming for as stated on my draft board. I think this player was selected based on a "best stamina defenseman" draft preference for round 1.

Very strange because I thought they would go through my draft board BEFORE resorting to draft preferences.......and if draft board player(s) were unavailable due to being drafted already.....draft preference would naturally come next.

So I checked out my draft board players again to see where they ended up...... and found some shady results.

(Drafted 5th overall, gone before my pick and understandable)
2. D) Duvie Papponen
(Drafted 6th overall, gone before my pick and understandable)
3. D) Jan Rintaluhta
(not drafted in 1st round, ??????? I wanted him! Why didnt I get him?)

(Drafted 18th overall,.........I drafted 7th overall, why didn't I get him?)
6. C) Nevin Mertineimi
(Drafted 16th overall........I drafted 7th overall, why didn't I get him?)

can anyone make sense of this? am I missing something? would like someone else's input before I submit a ticket just in case I am missing or overlooking something here.

Reading your story I agree that you should have gotten Jan Rintaluhta/Zellio Nasarow. I got Zellio Nasarow with my #18 pick as you state. I think I had him as my 2nd guy on the draft board, but still you picked before me...

I also know I had my draft preferences in round 1 set to C with best overall. What if players on the draft board are only picked if same position as your draft preferences? Should not be that way, but I wonder...what was your draft preferences okp?

I think you should send in a ticket asking for an explanation on how the draft board actually work...is it not all players on draft board first regardless on draft preferences?

I just wanna add that I am not looking for a reset of the draft or anything, I'll settle with my unwanted pick........just curious to know what happened as it seems like something went wrong.....and should be corrected for future drafts.

Also curious if anyone else besides me got shafted. :P

My 1st round draft preference "I think" was set to Defense with highest stamina.

which means even if they did go by position on draft board based on the same position of the draft board, I *should* have gotten Dman Jan Rintaluhta..... who was undrafted in the 1st round.

Very odd stuff, glad you agree Rammers cuz I thought I might have missed something.

Another thing okp...I may actually have gotten Zellio Nasarow based on my draft preferences, and not draft board as I was thinking...what if there is some kinda BUG not having the new draft board working properly? Also seems like you pick was based on draft preferences. Anyone know they got a player 100% for certain based on their draft board list?

well for right now, I don't plan to ask for a restart on the draft.... but if others feel something went wrong...... I'd consider it.

Seeing as how my eventual pick was a dman with 99 stamina..... its easy to see the system made my pick based on my draft preference and NOT my draft board..... boooooo! lol

Looking at damag's player drafted in round 1 - it seems like he must have gotten his center based on the draft board. Hopefully admin can verify what is going on.

I got exactly the player I wanted with the 23rd pick. I suspect he was far off everyone's draft boards anyway but I didn't want someone sniping him if I him for later. And I still have 6 guys in my top 10 who weren't picked.

okp, from the looks of things you got the defenseman with the highest stamina, Rouvalli has a 99. Only think I can think of is, at some point you may have moved your players around and not clicked "save draft settings". I did notice that it's at the bottom of the box, I kept reminding myself that it might be easy to miss. Like sometimes when I change my lineups, I forget to click "save roster changes". Otherwise yes, you should have gotten Rintaluhta.

Heeey. WHAT IF...something isn't quite ok when it comes to the new draft board. Maybe there is a slight draft board and player preferences conflict?

Since you had player preferences for round 1 set as D with highest stamina - the sim picked Rouvali for you because he was a better catch than what was available on your draft board (like D Jan Rintaluhta & C Zellio Nasarow).

If so admin have to make sure draft board is used FIRST regardless, and not going for player preferences until nothing is available on the draft board.

Shouldn't be, this is what it says in the overhead box:

"When it is your turn to draft you will acquire the first player that is available on your draft board. If no one is available then you will draft the player that best matches the criteria that you have specified. "

My default criteria was best overall d-man. The best overall d-man is far higher up the draft board than the player I actually selected.
