Some general facts about this season:

If Luongo gets just 3 more wins then 2009/2010 will be 2nd all time most wins by a goalie in Canuck history.

At .917 sv% 2009/2010 will be the 3rd best save% by a Canuck Goalie.

If Henrik gets 7 more points it will mark only the 5th time in team history the Canucks have 100 point scorer.

Current wins (43) with 13 games the all time team win RECORD of 49 could fall. With 89 points and 13 games the team has an outside chance at setting a new single season point total, the record is 105 points.

The sky is not falling......2009/2010 Will mark the 10th consecutive season the team will finish above .500 but before you na sayers way in about the zero cup bs........Go check your own teams record in the last 10 years.

Rotten luck for the Canucks in that game last night. Maybe losing that game will lift them up for their next game Vs the Sharks. Raycroft stepped in nicely again.

On a differant note, I sure like those Islander sweaters. Big improvment on the old fisherman sweaters from 10-15 years ago.

Some of the worst jerseys ever

Nice win last night Vs the Sharks. I think we took advantage of a team in a slump right now but it was another 2 pts. Luongo rebounded well from the NYI game. I thought Grabner looked OK. O Brian had a good game also. The Kesler line did a great job last night. Scoring goals and shutting down the Sharks big line all night. Kesler is on fire right now.

Next up.....Red Wings.

What a dilemma for that game

Canucks sign Kesler, 6 years, 30 mill. A reasonable deal and great news. Core forwards are in place for a long time.

Well, I'm not really sure about this deal. I really like Kesler and he plays a fantastic two way game, but when did 20 goals and 60 points for 5 million a season become a great deal? I think Alex Burrows is the same calibre of player Kesler is and he got a 4 year deal worth 2 million per. Something doesn't add up there.

To be clear, I'm not necessarily saying Kesler didn't deserve this kind of deal if you look at solely him, but this deal throws the salary structure of this team completely out of whack in my opinion because it's too close to what the Sedins make and too far from what Burrows makes, all of which are fairly recent deals.

Was it you who argued with me about Cammy?
3/19/2010 3:02 PM
Yes it was, but please keep in mind what I'm saying here...Kesler making 5 million when the Sedins are making less than 2 million more and Burrows is at 3 million less is what I find strange. Different GMs, Coaches and fans will value players in different ways and that's fine, but how can the same team (Canucks) justify evaluating Burrows as a 2 million dollar player and Kesler as a 5 million dollar player? It doesn't make sense to me.
3/19/2010 3:56 PM
Dont forget, the Sedins signed the contracts before they became more than average players
3/19/2010 4:04 PM
Kesler point per game player, Cammy point per game player... seems to make sense to me.. Maybe Kesler should have got more, cause he can play a very effective defensive game too, so he did take a discount relative to what other Canucks are being paid
