God, I hope so because I'm getting up at 6:30 a.m. to watch the bloody game. Their form has been pretty good lately. Now watch them pucker and lose 1-0.

Getting up early to watch that rubbish wasn't worth it.

well - i got it half right

what a joke - Wenger should resign

The inconsistency is frustrating but I suppose it's part of dealing with a young team. Adebayor's air kick with an open goal was simply brutal. Wonder if Milan and Barca still are willing to pay 20 million quid for him?

Zenit agrees to fee for Arshavin

I'm going to be working late tonight after taking a long and late lunch break to watch that garbage. It was an awful performance and the result was a little cruel on Everton.

Our midfield collectively looked like they suffered an epileptic seizure. Denilson and Diaby (until his final ball of the night to RVP, which owed as much as Jagielka falling asleep as his technique) gave the ball away time and again. Nasri disappeared for long stretches in the match. Everton deserve some credit but we lacked composure on the ball. Based on this match, Wenger is correct to target a creative playmaker.

At the back, we suffered the same spastic yips as our midfielders, with the worst being Gallas. His distribution was putrid and he nearly gifted Everton another goal by hoofing a simple 10-yard pass straight into the feet of an Everton attacker. Clichy and Sagna lost their ability to cross the ball into the box with any degree of accuracy.

If we are going to starve our forwards of service, why bother playing them? They are utterly useless when the ball gets crossed to row Z.

Aston Villa's win away -- without their playmaker Ashley Young -- is duly noted and we're now five points out of a Champions League spot. I wonder what Europa League football does to Arsenal's economic model.

nice summation, about sums it up

if they sign Arshavin - the midfield next year would be Rosicky, Arshavin, Fabregas, Walcott

one of those will have to sit - unless we only play 1 up front and put a defensive midfielder behind them

Plenty of craft in that foursome. Rosicky -- a big miss for us -- has finally started training again after more than a year out and Walcott is not far behind. Throw in Eduardo and we're finally going to have a little strength in depth for the run-in. But it ****** me off that we're going to be going hammer and tong with Villa and probably Liverpool -- who look like they are going off the rails between Rafa's rants, bizarrre substitutions and the boardroom machinations -- for a Champion's League spot rather than challenging for the league.

I've seen enough progress with Song and Djourou to suggest they'll be OK at DM and CD. I remain unconvinced by Diaby and Denilson.

Djourou yes - Song no - he doesnt have the bite - and i think he is too slow

Diaby shows flashes, but disappears for long stretches - Denilson has been total garbage

Another poor performance against a mid-table team who defended decently. With all our posssession, you could count the number of scoring chances on one hand, which is about the number of decent crosses delivered into the box. The really disturbing sign was the off-the-ball movement, particularly in the final third. Players were very static and made it West Ham's job very easy. Outside of Nasri and Diaby, nobody seemed eager to run at defenders. Adebayor was particularly poor, Bendtner lost and Denilson appalling.

The number of games to put together a run is dwindling. Villa is now five up with 14 games to go. Club Europa, here we come.

What do you guys think of that article? Comments by Dein and another former Arsenal man...

its dead on

1 - they should have never let Flamini go - it's the biggest gaping hole on the team - and i said it before the season started

2 - no depth to replace injuries - they need more veteran players who can step in and play at a top level when needed

3 - they just arent that good setup as they are now - Gallas needs to go - the midfielders just effin stand around in the offensive half - there is none of the usual Arsenal movement - and its due to lack of skill - Diaby, Denilson, etc are just not that caliber to be playing 90 minutes every game - i'd rather see Eboue out there, at least he tries to create
