Welcome billingsby!

As for the drafting issue...I don't mind either way. If owners would prefer to do the worst through first style of drafting (with the first 3 picks randomized) we can go with that...but we would need to take a vote.

I'll take the Mariners.

What's the deal with IR guys (for example Mike Morgan on my team)
8/12/2009 4:18 PM
Great question. My first reaction to that was that if he isn't in the 85 database, you are out of luck. That reaction is largely due to the fact that my rookies that enter these drafts, already had previous seasons where they aren't in the database.

That being said, I think perhaps this is an area we should explore. If a player is your current 85 roster, through baseball-reference, and had PREVIOUS WIS seasons...I think it would be a good idea to allow owners to enter these players into your roster. May help some of these last franchises to fill. If a player is on your current 85 roster, but is NOT in the WIS database for this season, AND does not have any previous WIS seasons...he would not be eligible.

I agree with that (not just because it helps me out :)). Seems to make sense that those owners should keep guys who are not WIS rookies.

kevinnj has grabbed the White Sox through sitemail

Wow..this filled nicely. Let's get the last 4 owners, and set up the league like above!

Right now...to get the top pick in the next draft, you will have to have the most wins over your real life teams record. So, tanking will just make things worse for the first 3 seasons unless we vote against doing the draft as such. As for interleague play, the hope was to make this league completely full to 26 teams...and make it as close to real life as possible. So, in 85, there was no interleague play, and 4 divisions.

tough call on the last few scrubby teams, but i'll go with the Texas Rangers

screw it habs Ill take the cubs. is there a league # yet?
8/12/2009 5:44 PM
Very nice Welcome guys! That just leaves 2 spots. There isn't a league number yet as I was wanting to see if we can get to the 26 team max. Secondly, I think we need to take a very quick vote to make sure that this 3 season draft format is the one we are going to follow. Finally, as each team enters their team, I would need them to list their team in a keeper thread (with DL players) so that we don't have any overlap of players. League number will be soon though!

F*CK IT

I'll take the Pirates. I want to join only if draft rule stays same. Picks are determined based on +/- of teams RL wins/loses in first 3 seasons.

Also, looking at the Pirates, they seem to have many more than 25 players who would qualify....

I can chose any 25 players that played on Pirates?

Also, take Kent Tekulve for example. 3 ip for team (PIT) 72 ip for PHI. Can I get him, or does PHI automatically get him

How do split seasons work, which team(s) get those players?
8/12/2009 6:19 PM
Ok, I answered my own question on Tekulve. First page says team with most PA/IP gets that player

Another Question: Dave Tomlin

1 ip for 85 Pirates. According to a post above, could I add Tomlin for any other year he played?
