We'll still use NHLnumbers to select players. NHL.com is a garbage site. If there are any problems (ie, you don't have an option for a prospect), let me know, and we can pick one who we know is coming up through the organization.

So, on NHLnumbers.com, there will be players who have never served a full season, and thus cannot be drafted. I'm allowing you to draft someone else in that person's place, and we'll just change the name with Admin.

Also, not a bad idea, tnuhnai. Feel free to change the name of any scrub on your roster to that of a current player as well.

PLEASE RENAME THE FOLLOWING:
Scrubs:

Dman 23/24 Gord Dineen (Senators) = Centre- Robert Lang

Dman 74/75 Mike Christie (GoldenSeals) = Centre- Kyle Chipchura

Prospects:

best Forward assister = Centre- Louis Leblanc

2nd best Forward assister = RW Danny Kristo

3rd Forward = RW- Steve Quailer

better assister = D Ryan McDonagh

2nd Dman = D David Fischer

Troubleshooting:

***If you can't fill your roster, scrubs are allowed with the following stipulations:
-retired NHL players only
-165000 salary
-0 goals & D<20 for skaters
Hence the reason I can't actually draft a $165,000 Robert Lang.

sorry i thought Lang played for Montreal, I'll stay out of it

He did play for Montreal.

But there are better players for more than $165k to take his place at any price above that.

Hence the reason I wanted a Dman at that price turned into him!

isn't Robert Lang a FA?
9/9/2009 2:05 PM
my bad, yes...so don't bother changing that Dman's name till/if Lang gets signed on by the Canadiens.

I'll take LA as second team
9/9/2009 3:48 PM
tnuhnai - LA is yours.

ferociousbun - Yeah, I must admit, it would be simpler otherwise. However, if it generates more interest in this league, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make!

winnerpeg - Robert Lang is not under contract for '09-'10. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Ryan McDonaugh was one of the prospects traded to the Rangers for Scott Gomez.

Detroit, Calgary and Anahiem are the top 3 teams

I would suggest we at least leave them for new owners, not for 2nd teams.

And it is clear to me that no one will take BUF, CLB, NYI, NSH, PHX, ATL

Really? I'd take Dallas in a heartbeat if I had a free team! They've lost a lot with the departure of Zubov and Sydor, but they've still got some serious potential.

goodluck drafting defence

Two D-men at D80+, two at D70+, four at D60+. Some injuries, but with a max of 2 injuries per team, they will always have decent defense. Could always draft a defenseman as the team's prospect, as well...Lots of retired D70+ guys available, or D90+ guys who may risk injury!

I was wrong

Aren't defensemen considered skaters?

If so, drafting any who are over 19D is against the rules.
