That list you posted will be much better than the list you will be posting in 5 seasons if things are as is. You will be seeing at least half the league with under 60 rated Fielding coaches

Have you looked into a crystal ball?

Here's why I think your theory is complete and utter BS:

5-6 seasons ago, the "scare" was that we wouldn't have enough quality SS. Or catchers. Good worlds have plenty of both. So, in 5-6 seasons, why do you think that FI will suffer the fate that SS/C did not?

I just went through GD Bryant world. I analyzed every coach(Not just hitting) in the world in order of fielding, I quit when I got into the 30's. My projection 5 seasons from now is that GD Bryant will have based on their current projections.

Fielding ratings.

4 Coaches 80+
1 Coach 76
1 Coach 73
2 Coach 69
1 Coach 47

All other coaches will be under 47.

Projecting is hard to do because most coaches did not gain (on average) fielding rating, gained 1 point, or lost 1 point unless they were a fielding coach, as coaches retire some low level coach will step in his place and gain 3 or 4 points a season as the fielding coach, when I say low level I mean under 50. So I am betting there will be more 50+ coaches, plus I can't account for newly created Fielding coaches. The major problem is that a coach improves most in the position he plays, so if a coach is a Hitting coach he will improve 3 or 4 point in hitting and 0-1 in fielding and that is why Fielding will in the long run drop, because there is no minor league fielding coaches. There is a ton of coaches that have 70+ in say hitting, pitching, or bench and 40-50 in Fielding. All those jobs have priority over a fielding coach.

I'm not interested in your projections for GD Bryant.

I'm telling you what happened. 5-6 seasons ago(18 months), there was much concern that, as players retired, there wouldn't be enough SS/C to field a team. Good worlds figured it out. There are plenty of both. FI wil be no different.

With a little effort you can look at any of your worlds that have 13 plus seasons and come up with the same exact projections for that world. I just took GD Bryant world as a example.. If things do not change in 5 seasons half the fielding coaches will have under a 50 fielding rating. I don't know or care what people said in the past about SS/C because that is 100% irrelevant to fielding coaches.

There is still a minor league catcher problem. I just play a DH or LF at the catcher spot in the minors because I could care less if my minor league team does well. I had one team recently go to the minor league world series without a Catcher on the roster.

There's your projections.

Minor league catcher problems happen in 'tard worlds because 'tards don't draft them, sign them or promote them. They're there. You just have to keep them around.

1 guy? You made a decision on 32 fielding coaches off of 1 Fielding Instructor? Two of those projected 80+ rated players in GD were under the age of 40, that did not make up for the rest of the world.

I really could care less about Catchers, I just convert my highest PC DH to Catcher and let them play their whole career in the minors. It seems there is plenty of 1B/LF/DH types.

Just checked MG/Coop(worlds I commish). We had 3 50+ FI(each) not hired. They'll be 50+ next season despite this.

1 guy shows you can fix your perceived "problem". Or you can cry about it.

We know which route you've chosen.

In Moonlight Graham in 5 seasons 27 of your 32 current fielding instructors should be retired.

Please link the coaches that led you to this conclusion, because I just checked a random sampling of the hitting coaches in one of my Worlds, at different levels, and no one under the age of 60 (and only one aged 61) failed to improve at least one point in fielding, regardless of level of employment as a hitting coach, and most had at least a couple seasons of 2 or 3 point jumps in fielding.

A glance at the bench coaches shows similar improvement - hell, even pitching coaches improve in fielding IQ, they just start so low they may never get above 30.
