And if 1/4 is too low for available public worlds-then go 50/50.

If you read my comments in the other thread concerning some of the reservations that ADMIN has with public worlds going private, you'll see that they don't want to put something in place where all (or most) of the current public worlds are able to go private.

That said, any proposal that has 75% or 50% of public worlds meeting any kind of eligibility requirements probably isn't going to fly with them.

Then everyone stays public.
9/18/2009 4:01 PM
Why?
9/18/2009 4:01 PM
Because if 75% of the public leagues want to go private-but you only allow 5%, that can't be explained to the other 70%. It would cause to many headaches (tickets) to be worthwhile for WIS.

Even if 75% were "eligible" I think far less would ever be able to go private if they have to decide unanimously that they want to and also pick a commish that way.

They want public worlds to attract people who can just pay and jump in. Including several cheaters who were kicked out of other leagues. The excuse is always the same "they didn't cheat in THAT particular league, so they are allowed to stay".

Sure it can.

"Here's the approved and published creteria. Your world doesn't meet the requirements."

tec, I think you've proven my point. You created a list that places a public world your in at the top. So therefore your world would have the option to go private-and you would be happy about it. I then say that no public world can go private, and you say why? Just as many other owners would say in public worlds that were not given the option. Its only a discussion-and you're questioning why your public world can't go private.
9/18/2009 6:06 PM
And double-A is probbaly right. If there are issues with a public world then certain owners would not agree to going private because they would fear being booted out by the commish at world rollover.
9/18/2009 6:08 PM
Sounds like sour grapes on your part, considering which public world you're in and where it ranks under my proposed criteria.

You then counter with your own proposal which sets no hard threshholds, just "let 75% of them go private" based on a poorly thought out formula I assume that you're hoping your world falls in there somewhere. Then, when told that a suggestion that would allow so many of them would not likely pass muster with ADMIN, you back off and say "Make 'em all stay public".

Which comes across as a bit spiteful on your part: "If my world can't go public, then screw everybody else". You're just taking your ball and going home.
9/18/2009 6:13 PM
And I really don't want to turn this into a "my world is better than your world" arguement. So let's turn back from there.
9/18/2009 6:16 PM
OK, how about giving everyone the opportunity to go private?
9/18/2009 6:25 PM
I'm not spiteful. I've never given it much consideration about public going private. I've certainly never tried to prove it by generating data that serves my interests and sending to customer support.

My point was there would be a reaction. And you've proven it. Under your criteria you think Mantle should be able to go private. When I suggest NO world goes private-you don't like it. Just like those owners that would also want to go from public to private would also react the same way if they were not allowed to.

That is the point. And your reaction to NO public world going private proves it.

And the poorly thought out formula-taking an entire history is better than picking a small sample of seasons. Why 5 seasons. Why not 7 or 10 or 3?

How about this. Rank the worlds based on the most money spent on WIS products by the owners(through all WIS sim-from simbaseball to clutch racing dynasty and HBD). The most loyal worlds, in terms of supporting WIS, get to decide if they want to remain public or private. That is the one thing WIS (and FOX) understands-money. Shouldn't the most loyal customers not get the best product available?

I completely agree miket-all or nothing.
