What I don't get is that pork has a really nice team. You don't have to schedule Stanford, Duke, Carolina, Illinois, and Iowa in order to have a decent schedule. There is a happy medium betwixt that and playing ten beyond dead SIM teams.

Pork, you take a team that should always be the class of the SEC, risk missing the NT and then boldly brag about getting to the NT with a high seed. Congrats! If you lost the CT you would have made an impressive PIT run with a NT Champ caliber team.

It is pathetic that you feel you need to attack anyone who would suggest that it was a stupid plan. You should accept that fact, own it and not defend your plan as brilliant. It is worse that we have to listen to you arrogantly brag that you did it on purpose. You should have more pride than that especially since you are at a destination school. Show some respect to UK instead of your ego.

And to be fair to hoosierchap, didn't he basically build the Yale team that won that miraculous NT last year?

If by "basically" you mean "completely", then yes, he did. (And that's not a slight to cheez, who's a very good coach.)

Stupid or not I am glad I did it. Considering doing it with other teams. Going 26-3 with a 1st Round loss will give a higher prestige bump then 17-12 with a 1st round loss. In any other year in any major conference going 13-3 like I did will give you an RPI worthy of going to the NT.

Not my fault that the SEC is absolutely horrible. Thankfully VD will finally get canned this year and I will not have to suffer through 3 RPI killing games against him anymore.

The only stupid part was not realizing that the rest of the SEC would equal the worst Big 6 conference and the 8th best overall. Any other season, I would not have needed to win the CT.

Feel free to bash. It is great to get talked about once again. My ego is loving it. lol

26-3 with a 1st round loss will not give any higher prestige bump than going 17-12 with a 1st round loss. It's all about how far you go in the NT along with whether or not you have enough players leave early for the draft. # of wins up to this point plays no part in prestige. Couple of wins in the NT, that's a different story.

And add to the fact the SEC is currently ranked #8 in RPI. So in all probability you will need to make the 2nd round to possibly move up and a 2/3 grade bump will probably require an Elite 8 despite the fact Kentucky's baseline prestige is top notch.

And UK certainly isn't doing themselves any favors when on ratings alone that team could have been a top four seed instead of a 13.

Are you absolutely sure that # of wins plays no part? I know for certain that final ranking does, so 26-3 and a Top-15 finish does get more of a prestige boost than 17-12, if both end up in 1st round losses.
You also out that conference titles and conference tournament titles also affect prestige.

Sure enough - #13 Syracuse (A- prestige) gets a 4 seed and loses to 13th-seeded Kentucky in the first round.
