Coach Hiring Warning Topic

Not really all that complicated. Here is some psuedocode.

Select FieldingInstructor Where FI < (Select Min(FI) From FieldingInstructor Where Hired = True) And Salary < AvailableCoachingCash

Almost. Your pseudcode would grab the first fielding coach that had a rating less than a hired fielding instructor (and enough salary). Try this:

Select FieldingInstructor Where Max(FI) < (Select Min(FI) From FieldingInstructor Where Hired = True) And Salary < AvailableCoachingCash

That way you'd get the highest level of unhired fielding instructor that you could afford and yet not exceed any level of a pre-hired Fielding instructor.

Seems to me that that coach hiring is like any other facet of the game. Higher player salary allows for the signing of the best FAs, high scouting budget allows for the best evaluation of new talent (draft and IFA) and coaching budget allows for the hiring of the best available coaches. Not sure why its all that complicated. I don't see anyone complaining when other teams go out an sign a bunch of expensive FAs

Planning so all slots are filled with 4 cycles to go usually prevents the last minute complaints.

Back out of the simulation and into real life, I need more work and I've got a great idea!

Are the Winter Meetings over? I thought I could go down and just hang around applying for a fielding instructor position in MLB.

If some franchise hasn't hired their man, then coming into the last day, I think I've got a great chance! (I took "Coaching Baseball" for a couple college credits, cut classes, and barely passed, after all.)

Here's some phrases you can use during your FC job interview:

1) "Move a couple of steps to your right. A couple more. One step back to your . Yeah, right there. You're good."

2) "Keep your eye on the ball, watch it all the way into the glove."

3) "HIT THE FREAKIN' CUTOFF MAN . . . WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?"

4) "Step . . . and throw. Good."

You forgot these gems of knowledge:

"Nice catch, Hayes. Don't ever f*ckin' do it again."

"Come on Dorn, get in front of the damn ball! Don't give me this "olé" bullsh!t!"

"t was out of my reach, what do you want me to do dive for it?"
