I think you're right in general, but some (not all) of the "out-of-position" picks make sense to me.

The main downside I see to drafting a guy like Rodman in this round is minimizing flexibility later on for adding perimeter scoring.

the true crazy times will start with the PF round.

Wasn't crazy about building around McHale but he's a respectable rebounder and great two-way player with some decent, less expensive options if need be.

I was a bit worried he'd cause problems filling holes later on, but was about to jump on him anyway if you hadn't. Looks so efficient on offense.

yeah, mchale should have been taken about 10 spots higher... a heist, devizier!

I ended up going with Baylor but completely felt like there were at least 3 other guys I could have gone with and been completely happy. This is screwy indeed...

baylor always scares me

there are two guys right now that come to mind that i bet the guys at the top of the sg round are praying dont get selected with these next 3 picks...kinda surprised the one hasnt gotten picked as i think hes better or just as good as drexler or kobe

the guys at the bottom of this round have the top picks in the shooting guard round

I need to definitely think about who you are referring to though

Fun as this game is, the fact that Stojakovic went 9 picks ahead of Dr. J really sums up a lot of what criminally departs from reality in this sim. Erving was a monster two major patches ago.

but there's one season of his that's still pretty stout in today's engine. if i pair him right with the next pick (a big if), which i get the 4th, then we might be pretty good. fingers crossed.

Ain't that the truth! I had 5-6 ways to go. Prolly woulda gone Marion if possible. Brand is a kinda Marion-like. Not a perfect fit for this sim, though. Now what?!!

Really liked that Kidd pick - he was my 2nd choice after Kobe.. surprised he didn't go sooner considering all that he does.

The way I see it (and I have really bad vision), it's key to get serious impact players in the first round in any draft. That's why I chose Kobe as my 1st proxy pick even though he's a SG.

Finding a SF later will be a chore tho.. basically I need to find a 2 that can play the 3 or Kobe will end up playing the 3, which I don't want... I think it's the movement of players through the positions that make this draft more interesting than others. There's a lot to consider..
