thanks! that is the kind of crap i was sure would be wrong somewhere, but no way for me to pick it up eyeballing it :) i'll get those switched for the next thing.

i think nt appearances by coach instead of team makes a lot of sense. ill probably just create another thread with all the same info, but by coach instead of by team, with any problems that have come up by then fixed.

incredible, doc!

this is really awesome. It gives me some perspecitve of the number of the number of great coaches out there.

i think the thing that amazed me the most were some of the accomplishments by guys like opwr and gfox (and others) that I had not noticed in a world where I am very active (Tark)

am i reading right that no d3 team has ever won 3 NC in a row? that surprises me. (maybe D3 is not as "easy" as the naysayers say?)

one small thing, doc, not sure if it is easily doable or if you would even want to , but ill throw it out there anyways.

could you make world # a secondary sort item?

so that all the iba teams that have 3 sweet sixteen appearances would be group together (for instance)?

does that make sense?

thanks davey. yes, you are reading that right. unless my program has a bug, no coach has ever won 3 in a row.

on a side note, i am thinking of taking out the SIMAI only entries. what a sim does early in a d1 world when there are no humans is really completely irrelevant. anyone disagree? any thoughts?

Great job BillyG. 1 suggestion, maybe make a key for those who who don't know the worlds by #s but by names. Because honestly I only know the 2 a day worlds by their # and I've been playing this game for 18 months. The rest I'd just be guessing except Naismith because of that's not #1 something is wrong.

I'd like to second this - I admit my ignorance, but I don't know what # the worlds are...great work though, and I guess that means you got your other box working or figured out how to import the data from your backup :) Love the idea of this though!

your welcome guys! one more thing i forgot to mention... only 1 entry per team per list. so if 10 is the most elite 8s and one team has a 10 streak and a 9 streak, only the 10 streak will make the list.

i am hoping going to 100 entries makes getting on the list a viable possibility for some younger coaches, too. i have always been motivated by things like this, setting goals to make it on the list, etc... so i'm hoping 100 is enough to reach to those beyond just the vets :) but i am definitely open to expanding a couple select ones, maybe NT appearances, i'd have no problem expanding to say 500 or so.



Very impressive and interesting. I always like seeing what's going on in other worlds/divisions. I wish WiS did more stuff like this. As far as the one team per list rule, I'd recommend allowing a team show up more than once, at the very least if it's a different coach. If somebody wins 3 straight Div I NTs, but it's at a school where SimAI won 4 in a row when the world was new, it's still worthy of recognition.

your right pottle. when i do it by coaches i will do it that way. i just did it this way because it was the easiest thing to do and i wanted to get something out to see if the data was right etc.
