Im an Ohio st fan. I didnt really experct them to get a #1 seed.

However, the argument is there. The commitee punishes teams that have late season injuries and seeds them based on the current team they are putting on the court. Syracuse had an injury and got pushed to the 4th # 1 seed based on a combination of that and an early conference tourney exit. I think if the injury didnt hit, theyd be in the 3rd spot even with the tourney loss.

Presumably West Virginia and OSU were the top 2 seeded #2s. So why does Ohio State match up with Kansas and West Virginia with Kentucky?

Also, to whoever posted about Sienna unexpectadly beating Ohio State last year, that was an 8-9 game, so it wasnt really much of an upset--other than for the fact that it was in Dayton.

Illinois stinks. They would have set all sorts of records for worst ever at-large RPI in the tournament.

I'd much rather have seen a team like William and Mary get in the tournament than another 14-loss suckbag from a major conference.

They had 5th most top 25 rpi wins, that is anything far from 'sucking' the better choice of words would be 'inconsistant'.

Duke should not have moved ahead of 'Cuse for the #3 1 seed.

That's such a small thing, it really doesn't matter. Heck, as some have already mentioned, the two best #2 seeds are playing Kentucky and Kansas, anyway. And Kansas and Kentucky are also set to match up in the Final Four which is also stupid. (Both of those things are way, way, way more significant than the Cuse/Duke flip-flop.)

And yes, Illinois was wildly inconsistent. I'm really mixed on them, they have good wins but it's tough to take a 14-loss team. Obviously you're not exactly unbiased on the subject, lol.

I thought the only thing that mattered was whether you won or lost ...
Its most important, followed by SOS (Kentucky > Ohio State), followed by point margin (-1 > -20+?)

Miss St should not be in either, nor should Florida (who did they beat ? ) With your logic as well you would say that Illinois should have been in over Minnesota as well
Somebody's got an agenda to push.

No I am just using your logic to come up with this, Illinois finished higher in the Big Ten, Had many more better wins and didn't get 'blown out by tOSU in the Big Ten final' - I think I summed up your opinion pretty well, using your logic.

I agree dalt, they only have themselves to blame , they didn't win when they needed to (I think they beat MN two weeks ago they are in) the talent is there and they made a great case with a bunch of good wins but their inconsistancy got the better of them.

Awesome we have to play game #1 as the #1 seed in the NIT on the road as well!

Nobody's talking about Murray State, but that team is legit, and will surely give Vanderbilt all they can handle.

And dalt, like i told a good friend yesterday, if we get in we could win two games or get blown out by 40, just depends on what team shows up.

That's the thing though, I'm comparing teams that had like CT success, thus its really a 1 to 1 comparison of sorts...talking about Illinois because you go there/they're your favorite team makes it look like you're pushing an agenda, especially since they lost in the CT semis and beat worse teams than MN did in the CT.
