So your idea of average is what? 75? 80?

What sort of 'tarded up worlds do you play in where you can acquire a staff of pitchers with 75+ in every category?

This is exactly what I have been saying since you chimed in. He should be roughly league average were it not for his poor pitches.

I mean my original question was not "Why is this guy league average?" It's why does this guy SUCK.

He sucks because he was overextended and his pitches aren't good enough. Not because of a deficiency against RH or poor control.

Exactly. I refer back to this:

A) anyone who's saying he doesn't have BL control or splits should be taken out and horsewhipped. He does.

B) anyone who's saying he has BL RP pitches should be taken out and horsewhipped. He doesn't.

C) anyone who lets him throw more than 25 pitches per game should be taken out and horsewhipped. He shouldn't.

So you're saying 15 points vs. LH can't offset 5 points in control?

Seriously, his splits/control aren't the problem. To even pretend that they are is deceptive, at best, or just plain wrong, at worst.

Here. There's my problem with your entire premise. By your own admission, 68 would be "world average" and not "so terrible".

It is average. When the rest of his repertoire is below average, he will be terrible.

Average is not terrible.

Again, you were being deceptive by design or by accident. Only you know for sure. His control/splits aren't the problem. It's his pitches. You've focused on splits for some unknown reason.

His only above average skill is his LH split.

When he pitches against RH batters, his split is average, his control is below and his pitches are below, so he will get crushed. Which he does.

When he pitches against LH batters, his split is good, his control is below and his pitches are below, he will not get crushed as bad.

If he has to be used, it should be in situations where his skillset allows for the biggest chance of success. That was my point, by design.

Isn't that true for any player? Isn't that sort of what we do? Acquire players and utilize them in the best way possible?
