They mean it exactly as everyone has interpreted it.

And killed Cooperstown in the process. There will be a mass exit over the next couple of days. Some have suggested that me and smoelheim remain in a timeless stuggle alone.

I'm good with that.

The repercussions of what WifS is now saying could be devastating those of us who actually want to win legitimately and earn victories. I think the commissioner of every world should have the final say in ALL issues, especially who is allowed in and who should be told to leave. Why admin thinks it has to police this is beyond me. Let commish's boot guys midseason if they are violating league rules and policies. What good is to have a 'private' world if there is no control of said world? Every world will become a public world and we all know what happens to public worlds. Well done admin. You've really dropped the ball on this one.By the way, I went in and read the chat for Coop. smoelheim should be given the boot and all other commish's should be warned about him.

agreed, otherwise what's the point of having a commish?

I'm thinking Cooperstown as an "elite" world might need some new criteria for league entry.

May I suggest 1000 world series titles?
4/8/2010 11:01 PM
As much as it sucks for you guys in Cooperstown, it's good to see some people willing to stand up for what's right. I don't understand how an owner is not booted if there is 31 owners in favor of it. Complete bullshit.

OK...soooo...Are we all boycotting and not spending any more money on this game until they change it?
4/8/2010 11:16 PM
i have a team that ive had for 13 seasons now in camp world (granted it's public and not the best of public worlds) that is in the world series right now. it was the first team i ever had in HBD and i never thought id give it up, no matter how bad the world got.

but i won't be buying another credit for that team for next season if WIS doesn't change their stance. this is completely ridiculous

Thats my suggestion trop. Since not everyone reads the forums, I suggest posting a quick suggestion in all your worlds to visit the forum and that the changes are bad for private worlds. Or sitemail your commishes. If enough commishes are on board it will have an affect. And I cant imagine there is a commish thats OK with this.
4/8/2010 11:20 PM
I think what needs to happend for this to be effective is for the commish's to band together and take a stand. If the commish's aren't behind this stance we have no legs to stand on. I know it's impossible to get all the commish's in agreement but there has to be enough out there to give this thing some clout. I think admin will take this seriously if half the worlds aren't rolling over because the commish's aren't pushing the button.
4/8/2010 11:21 PM
Anyone have a list of commishes and who will participate? There are a lot of private worlds out there.
4/8/2010 11:24 PM
The Commish/World thread will be useful to contact a chunk of them. I think all the good commishes will be on board. I may put together a sitemail list tomorrow if I have the time. If someone else wants to do that, let me know. I dont want to spam people. Just make sure everyone realizes whats happening.

Between everyone thats on here regularly, we should be able to get word to all the worlds
4/8/2010 11:24 PM
I commish two worlds. I would never hold up the rollover of a world unless the members of the world agree. Cooperstown is having a mass defection so I know those owners are on board. We'll go from having 32+1 to about 10 by the end of the weekend.

I'll check with the owners in MG(many crossovers) to see what they think. So we might have two worlds that historically roll on the same day sitting for quite some time.

Done and done.

im out til morning. The key thing is notifying the commishes and the worlds. I think there will be enough dissatisfaction to make it effective.
4/8/2010 11:30 PM
I am not a commish, but I must say that this is very very disheartening. I am certainly on board with Trop's idea.
4/8/2010 11:41 PM
It would be a good idea for WIS to put real thought and care into these kinds of guidelines and official statements. They don't even spell check their work.
