Same goes with players who over/underperform. No one cares when their borderline BL player puts up A/S numbers. But, by God, if that A/S is hitting .244, something is wrong with the engine.

Here's an example of why my system(and any other non-ADV scouting system) isn't 100%(or even 90%) accurate:

I took the team in S6. Under the previous regime, this guy improved 6 points between S5-S6. He also improved 6 points between S6 and S7 under my guidance. So, in my mind, this player lost 4-5 points of overall improvement under previous ownership. Had I been trying to trade for him after S5, I'd have assume his ceiling is right where he's at now. Based on S5 to S6, that's where he'd end up. Obviously he's still improving and anyone with high ADV would see that he has room. I would have argued that he'd never hit 80 overall.
