There are 21 Live players in the new league. I'd have to say I'd prefer not to join a league that has 21 openings.

We have not reached the all-star break in ML baseball & as many veteran owners know from the start of spring training until around the all-star break worlds fill a little quicker as interest in baseball is at it's peak.

This would be the most sensible time of the year for WIS to allow new worlds to start and I don't believe they will let new worlds to continue to start at the pace of 2 per month. I would also be a little surprised to see them allow the New League to start until they see how the 10 worlds about to roll fill.

A little too early for a sky is falling thread, if the 5th world is created then I may change my mind.

The real "problem" with filling worlds begins in the fall. Baseball is ending, football is starting, school is back. This will also be the time any world created now will roll.

Will the sky fall? Unlikely.
Will more worlds sit for a longer period of time? Yes.
Do I think this is part of the alias issue? Yes. Owners get tired of waiting. They create a new username, perhaps innocently, and ask to join. Desperate commishes take them in. Then lines start getting crossed.

Say what? That's a nice little abuse of statistics, Kid.

"Doctor, I've coughed up blood 5 times in the past 2 months"

"Doctor, I've coughed up blood 5 times in my life"

Assuming both are accurate, which is more relevant?

Thank you death. That is exactly what I am saying. All that is relevant is what has happened over the past 2 months. In the year prior to those 2 months nothing happened. The trend is now and the trend is something to worry about.

A trend is a trend regardless of when it started or ended. More weight should be put on 7 teams in 1.5 years plus 2 months than 2 months of data (4 teams)

Sure, if you want to be WRONG.

I hope you don't run your own business. By the time you realize a trend has occured, the sherriffs will already be knocking at your door.

In 4 plus years, Wifs allowed the creation of 170ish worlds.

That's about 40 a year. So, since they've only allowed 7 in the last year and a half, I'd say we're looking at about 70 new worlds by the time 2010 is over.

How's that for a trend?

Numbers are fun.

WIS has not approved a new world in three days. So based on recent trends, obviously World Rickey will be the last world ever created. We now feel very special.

It's apparent that WifS is no longer creating new worlds based on that evidence.

"But those of us who have never experienced being in a world from the start should have a chance to do that."

There will always be someone who has not experienced a world from the start. With that philosophy a endless amount of worlds could be created.

If there were enough new owners flooding HBD to require an "endless amount of worlds," there would hardly be a problem filling established leagues also.

A new world once every 6-8 months would give new owners the opportunity I mentioned. I said a "chance" to do that, meaning every once in a while. That does not mean that every time someone new signs up for HBD, a new world is created just for him. Good grief.

That's pretty much how it worked for a couple of years, though.

This isn't a new world every 6-8 months though. Even if you don't like me saying 4 new worlds in 3 months and you want to saw 4 worlds in the past year and a half that is a new world every 4.5 months.

That's a ridiculous comparison. How about I've worked late 5 times in the past 1.5 year and I've worked late 4 times in the last two months. A sample over 1.5 years vs 2 months is statistically more relevant.

Yes but with the example given and the example of HBD it is not. Of the 4 new worlds I am talking about ALL of them are within the past 2 months. It is not as if 1 was from 8 months ago and then 3 from within the last 2 months. The problem is that 4, maybe 5, new worlds have started in the past 2 months. I am not saying "a world opened up yesterday so that's 1 every day and at this pace we'd have 365 new worlds". That would clearly be ridiculous.
