Today's Update - Seble please respond Topic

Because we've done that for three months.

Most of us have now paid a decent amount of money to beta test.

I'm one of the most cordial people you'll meet, but I'm sick of paying money for screwups, and even though I couldn't care less who is to blame, someone needs to take responsibility and fix the problem.

Hey guys, I agree with most of you in that some things have been messing up, and other things haven't been working right, but instead of saying Seble f*cked this up, or Seble this or Seble that, how about rewording the criticism to something like "Hey Seble, that last tweak didn't work because of this" or "Hey Seble, something went wrong over here" and give him an example in a site mail instead of sounding like a spoiled brat on the Forums page. Seble might take it a little better and look into it a little quicker.
If we were actually getting some feedback/input from seble, that would seem appropriate to me. I've been pushing him to communicate more, let people know what's up, but to no avail.

colonels, how about this: I'm starting to come closer to your way of thinking on seble. So many decisions have been made without any idea of the unintended consequences (and we all know that unintended consequences are rampant when it comes to the HD sim) ... I'm very disheartened at this point.

Incidentally, it's starting to look more and more like Colonels was right.  He said he watched Seble destroy the NBA Sim and now we're all getting a first hand look at the slow destruction of HD.  Shame....this used to be a fun game.
I was thinking about jabbing, and then I read this...and I probably still will...tactfully though...trying to bring a new colonels to the party. Scott's biggest problem has always seemed to be that he over-corrects on certain issues and when he goes back to fix them, he doesn't seem to be able to, or even know how. As always, the proof is in the pudding, but I would love to know in general why the game has been on delay ever since the implementation of the new engine, even after it completely supplanted the old engine...and that's basically the million dollar question/concern here.
Over correcting is not just a seble problem it has always been WIS problem. EVERYTHING since day one has been over corrected.

If we weren't paying to play the game I think many would be more willing to be a little nicer with their comments. Oh and the fact that many of us have spent hundreds and thousands of dollars on this site as well.

The Alpha test showed me the light.

ZHawks, I agree with you in general, but it's not like we're paying hundreds or thousands of dollars per season or 5/10 season block. This is still so dirt cheap I could afford this on unemployment. I will agree with though, in this post and a couple of others this morning as well, that Seble should, like Daalter said,  communicate more with us. Again, like DA said, it only takes a couple of minutes to put our minds at ease and let us know he understands our concerns and is looking into them. Seble, Hint, Hint, Hint.

I don't think the "Seble, Hint, Hint, Hint" at the end of your message is going to do any more than the topic headings already screaming his name.

Here's the deal:

Games (and effects of games like practice) and recruit generation run using the new engine.  Everything else runs in the old engine.  They can't run at the same time.  I made the switch to run the new engine first because there are things in the old engine that are meant to run right after the games.

Also, in the new engine, everything runs one world at a time.  In the old engine things run one process (e.g. games, recruiting) at a time including all worlds.

The long-term plan is that everything will eventually move to the new engine and the old one will disappear.  At that point, everything will run world by world similar to Hardball Dynasty.  There's no way to make things run in the same sequence as they used to until everything has moved to the new engine.

It's a shame that the current problems have retroactively prevented you from getting any entertainment value out of the game at all.

That's like saying it's not a big deal when people commit fraud, so long as it only costs each defrauded individual a few cents.

The site is still operational because it turns a solid profit.  They are making what I would guess is a pretty decent amount fo money selling a fairly dysfunctional product.  Yeah, it only costs me a few hundred bucks per year (assuming no credits), but they are making a lot of money.

I had recruiting cycles run at 11:01 and 11:21 in Knight.

OK, thanks for the explanation. Good to know.

Now, is there a reason that you can't run the recruit responses first, and then run the games second?

Having the recruit messages/updates come reliably is just more important, as you can see from the responses in this thread.

That is not what I said Anton. I was making the point that since we have all started playing many of the issues have either been here all along or are now back. It seems as one thing is solved 10 other things tend to pop up. Oh and some solid Customer Service / letting us know what is up would be fantastic.

Can you tell us what still runs on the old engine and why it is doing that?
