I don't give a chit about your phone messages.. I'm talking about new players that are trying to learn from us.. You make it hard young man you really do ...
You would rather have a new player waste several thousands of recruiting dollars offering scholarships to see if a player can be pulled down, rather than having them learn the phone call messages (which is searchable by forum by simply searching for "pull down")? It's more like you are making it really hard for a new player to get his team to be competitive.

They tell you when they respond to the phone call...  One option is they don't respond.  That means you won't be able to sign them.  Or maybe they make fun of you or say something obviously negative about your school or hang up on you or your AD says "do you believe in miracles" or some such that makes it obvious that they don't want to play for you.  You can't sign them either.  Third option is they say you're a backup option, they're looking to go to a "big time program" but they'll keep you in mind if that doesn't work out.  That means they're a dropdown/pulldown option.  Or you get the standard message you would for a same-division recruit - something about how they would need more recruiting to come to your school.  That means they're already at your level and you can recruit with HVs or CVs.  And that's how you know.

Like I said again... i've been met with resistance.. I would offer to a new coach that information time and time again.
And this is the problem.  If you want to be stupid with your recruiting funds that's fine, but you shouldn't be actively disseminating your misinformation to new coaches.  You're wasting a ton of money.  Not only that, you actually get less info from the scholarship offer than you do from the call, since you can't always tell from the scholarship offer response whether the guy is a dropdown/pulldown or already in your league.

I'll up you one, you can call their coach for $10 and get the same whether the player can be pulldown or not info, and also get their offensive/defensive sets.

sometimes - (on the sets - another area where inconsistent recruit effort responses don't really make sense - does the coach forget to mention it the other times? Did I forget to ask...but i digress)

So can we agree that the scholarship offer method is not cost efficient, and maybe it's time to stop telling new coaches to offer scholarships on a bunch of players to see if they can be pulled down?

So you are still standing behind the offering scholarships to see if a player is pulldown material is the best approach?

If you want to do that it would be great but i would not advise that ...

ambiguous as ever. Which are you referring to as "that," that = phone call or that = scholarship offer?
