NCIH $52 MIllion Draft: Pre-Mid Season Thoughts. Topic

Posted by ashamael on 6/21/2011 2:49:00 PM (view original):
he's fine up tempo.  12.5 or 13 usage points.

i actually agree with tarheel about your team, scud... though it's still a winner.
I guess that's what I get for comparing usage to my own team, which clearly has too much in the starting lineup, lol.

100% total just seems kinda low to me, but I suppose total usg isn't really the best way to look at things.
6/21/2011 2:58 PM
man itd be a crime to see that awesome scoring backcourt of barros/miller playing half-court

its a good thing you have such awesome efg% because you will probably be overmatched on the boards...barros,miller, and maxwell are all pretty weak on the boards for their position
6/21/2011 3:44 PM
I will definitely get crushed on the boards in that regard. However I am hopeful that my upcoming 6th man will help out a bit, we'll see if he falls though.
6/21/2011 3:49 PM
i really like your team tarheel....i never realized how good paus best season was...his defense is even pretty good considering the recent changes...and youre right about penny...with his new defense he should have went sooner then the 4th
6/21/2011 3:55 PM
thanks...unfortunately I'm currently in one of those situations where I'm almost positive the guy(s) I want to take next won't make it back to me.
6/21/2011 4:25 PM
Having a hard time figuring out how the evals are going....some updated to round five, some round four, some round 3 and some to 2
6/21/2011 9:23 PM
Sorry malone. I will try to have all of the teams caught up through round 5 at least by midnight.
6/22/2011 3:19 PM
Feelin' pretty good about this squad.

$6.9M left for 2300 minutes.  I'll be a little over the desired minutes, but I'm relatively happy with the rotations I've got:

Great inside-outside punch with Admrial & Redd + Big Shot with Price in the rotation...

All of the above have good tov% for their positions... Redd & Billups have excellent tov% for their positions.

Admiral & Big Shot (highest two usage) get to the line a lot.  Price does, too.  All are decent FT shooters, with Billups & Price being excellent.

Will have at least 10.5 usage points on the floor at all times, most of the time between 12 & 15.

Almost 500 3pm with more to come.

SL has 44.8% oreb, 97.7% dreb.  That drops very little with Dalembert in the line-up instead of Nater, so my "defensive line-up" should I change starters will be still really good.  Boards suffer much more when Price is in the line-up, but (in theory) efg% should go up with his awesome ast%.

Fouls aren't optimal but are way lower than I typically end up with in draft leagues.  Dalembert is the worst and he's still under 6 per 48.  The rest are under 4.5.

Defense actually isn't bad but could be better.  100-36-85-45-80 in SL with 61 & 48 as part of the core rotation.  I'll get some steals & blocks, too, but won't lead the league in the either.

This team will be very good  if tmac , kg and mourning can coexist . buse, ray, humphries and dunleavy should only make my big three better. We'll see
team still needs 8 minutes at pg and 12 minutes at center. I have my eye on a couple of players i really like. Here's hoping they don't get drafted.

.500, here we come!  The per-48 numbers look better; highest TO/48 is 3.7, only two PF/48 over 3.6.  eFG% is steady across the board.  No super-studly rebounders, but the four bigs should do enough.  Some nick block numbers from the starting frontcourt.  A bit short on 3's, but it's livable.  I tend to like more assists than this team has, but I think I overrate assists.  We need around 1,000 more minutes, and we've got $4M to fill out the bench.  I've got one or two guys in mind that I'll take a look at if they're still available after the draft, but I won't even bother finishing it up until the draft is done.

u guys, just delete those annoying x's and arrows, and reduce the size of the font, and you'll have a picture perfect page.

i love weatherspoon, chris, and you picked his 20% dreb season it looks like (his best season, imo). also, he might delightlyfully surprise you on how many asts he'll actually dish out.

Rebounding is a little on the low side for this league, (starting lineup is 38%/91%), but I think I can hold my own with excellent rebounders in Oakley and Anderson coming off the bench. Usage is a little on the high side, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. We're great on assists. Lots of good-but-not-great defenders - everyone besides Anderson is between 70 and 90. Thanks to guys like Bird, pretty good defensive flexibility as well. Good amount of steals, not too many blocks. Should have about 450-500 threes after the roster is filled out. FTA a little on the low side, but we shoot them at a very high percentage.

I think this team is a contender. But all the teams are so good in 52 mil, it's hard to tell for sure.

Sorry about the bad formatting. Overall, I like this teams chances. The PG group has excellent shooting. The SG and SF group also shoots very well. Pierce is a concern though because of his very high usage and 50.9 EFG%. Parish and Wilt are good efficient combo down low. Perhaps below average on the boards but no bad foulers at the PF or C spots. I have the feeling that as Pierce goes so goes the team. I just couldn't pass up his 0506 season because of the 627 FTM.
