But Mad, Adv is only useful for players that are still progressing towards their projections.  It has nothing whatsoever with current or wth declining ratings.  Its invaluable if you are trading for prospects and virtually nothing else...  Or am I misunderstanding what you are saying?

And besides, what is the defniition of middle of rotation and top of rotation?  My definitions:   A clear #1 is called an Ace.  A #1 or #2 would be considered a top of the rotation pitcher.  A #2 through #4 could be considered a middle of the rotation, and a bottom of the rotation is a #4 or #5.  Obviously there is some overlap here.   The player is question could be considered a #2 on some teams, and defniitely a #3 or #4 at worst on most teams.  So, really, this whole conversation is stupid.  Its like arguing what shade of blue the sky is.    So again, he's just pot stirring because that's how he gets his jollies.  That and sending me private trade chat messages with his unsolicited opionions trying to get me to argue with him.  Get a f'ing life.

Actually, this thread saddens me just a little.   I find it a bit depressing that someone has spent in excess of 3K and still believes that ADV is an important tool in evaluating 31 year old players.    I don't understand how that could possibly happen.    Someone is intellgent enough to have made at least $3000 over the last 4 years or so but has very little understanding of the game.  Even a cursory glance at the forums once a month over the last 48 months should have given him more insight into the game.  

It's just sad.

I love it. It also explains how I can be kind of successful in this game while only putting in moderate effort. If the average player is as HBD retarded as this guy the competition is useless.

ADV scouting means NOTHING for that player. 

And besides, ADV is for projected ratings up to age 27. Once a player raches 27 proj=current ratings. At 31, ADV is superflous.

From my Advanced Budget of 14 . I can see he has not started the down hill slide of old age yet. So it can be said that he will be an effective pitcher for 4-5 years . But how could Jtpsops make that opinion on just part of the picture.I say he can't ,and shouldn't. Sometimes a person should just keep there opinions to themselves when they aren't well informed. If they are trolling for confrontation . Go to the Forums and keep it off our World chat.
This is the entire point of this thread.  When someone comes into world chat and says "I have a stud, I want 1st round talent or an IFA for him", then that's pretty much inviting opinions, especially if the guy is not a stud.

Cheers to apollo though...he fleeced some schlub into giving him a pretty good return for Belliard. Doesn't mean his player assessment was accurate though.

Lay off Madmuldoon. The guy is a great owner that cares and gives alot to his worlds.. You'd be lucky to have him in your world. We all have made mistakes in life and misunderstood a seemingly simple concept at some point. People pointed out that ADV scouting doesn't work for 27 years old and over and Mad might have learned something, but then a couple of you guys have to go and make yourselves feel good about yourself by putting someone else down.  And that's what I FIND SAD.

No, I would not be lucky to have him in one of my worlds.  He knows very little about the game.   When it was pointed out, he decided to imply that I must be gay.  When you toss around insults and ignorance, you get what you deserve.
