how bout another atribuite that could be added called clutch. It would give u an idea on who to goto in the last minute.
We can't even control who to go to though

If we are adding attributes, however, I would love ONE more shooting stat;  Midrange.  It could even replace Durability, if durability isn't going to mean much, in order to make the overall ratings come out similar;  Midrange jumpers are not the same as perimeter shooting or the post. - and could simulate that guy who can hit fifteen to eighteen footers all day, but couldn't hit a three to save their life.

One other thing that I keep wondering is about firings-- Doesn't it show that WIS knows and understands they have serious issues if they are hestitant to fire DIV I coaches?  It would seem that if they wanted to attract new talent, they would increase firings and also advertise that-- It would mean more then to be able to stay at a school for an extended length of time and bring in fresh meat.  Right now, as a young player, you see the complaints and quickly realize that you might be able to be competitive if you get in the right DIV 2 or 3 conference, but seems like a really long route to be successful at DIV I.
I have read the other sides point of view that they have stuck it out and deserve to be there but the game is drastically different now then when they "earned" that right so the only reason I see allowing them to maintain that standing is WIS' understanding that because of program issues, if they lose those long-timers, they won't be able to replace them.  Businesses that operate from a mentality of scarcity are doomed to long term failure and would think that if someone at WIS doesn't realize this, someone at Fox most definetely would.
Anyways, just a thought and good to see that some of the long-timers have a 'Warren Buffet' mentality themselves.  My respect level has greatly increased for DAHS and therewas.
I agree that firings need to be ramped up, but since you brought the idea up, you get to go first.  What do you think the criteria should be for firings at a D1 school (BCS, mid-major, and lower D1)?

I am 100% opposed to any change that allows coaches to build up their programs over time - hiring assistants, building infrastructure, etc. - because they inherently put new users at a bigger disadvantage.  That's not good for building the game and community.
I agree.  This isn't the sims.  I don't want to build a little town, I want to coach a team.
A new user could choose to forgo recruiting carry-over to get a fast prestige boost to improve recruiting chances next season or the following. It's a strategic option on how to use the carry-over. It would merely represent those things being done that help schools compete off the court.

I think the biggest improvement for HD would be having a developer that gave a !@$% about improving the game.
I couldn't possibly agree more.

It might seem complicated. . but I would like the ability to use BOTH target minutes and fatigue in the same depth chart, to a degree.  Say. . I want my team to sub based on fatigue, but fred, I absolutely want to get ten minutes;  I made a promise.  Or somehow have a way to code in that you want a specific player to reach a certain benchmark in a game.

Not sure exactly how that would WORK though
Love this idea! You can have both minutes and fatigue. If you want fatigue then pick that for that player. If you have a player you want to have 10 minuets you can use that instead of fatigue. It would be very helpful to use both.

+1

the NBA sim already lists a RL % of shots taken from Perimeter, Midrange, and Paint
ie.. Steve Novak is like a 70%, 14%, 16% and Dwight Howard is 1%, 8%, 91%

so I'd guess three ratings could be worked into HD

THIS.  Could really add some diversity vis a vis big men.

Wouldn't we also need a new player strategy option to go with this? One to determine their close-mid-3 distro?

Just adapt the current plus/minus to the task.

I know it is minor but I have advocated for more color categories in organizing my potential recruits for quite a while now.  Now we have red, yellow and green.  Just give me 2 or 3 more colors so I can organize my recruits a little more.  Some may not use it but I would appreciate it.  Should be an easy add for WISC.

One thing I would think would be interesting is to have a cap/potential on IQ as well as ratings.  Ratings no longer increase at a linear rate, so why should IQ?  We've all seen kids who pick up the O and D very quickly (think coaches sons) and we've all seen those kids that are dumber than a bucket of hair and never quite "get it".  To think that all kids would learn offensive and defensive sets at the same rate is about as unrealistic as anything in this game.
