Fix Player Rest for Minor Leaguers when season end Topic

Anyone on a 40 man roster better be keeping themselves in game-ready shape as long as there is a chance that the big club might need them.  I don't see why we need happy accidental bugs to "keep things real" in this game.  Better if they fix the bugs, and if they find that there is a loophole that people are taking advantage of, deal with it appropriately.  As I understand this, only the people who were trying to win with their AAA teams all the way up till the end get punished by this.  If I were to sit all of my AAA players on the 40 man roster for the last 20 games, this bug would have no effect.

... And for the record, I have not ever had a prospect make his debut in the playoffs, FYI.

On top of everything else, it only applies to players when the season is over for their team at their level. Say two teams (Boston, New York) have identical pitchers in the minors. After pitching the last day of the minor league season, both are at 20(43). Boston makes the AAA playoffs, New York doesn't. Boston's pitcher recovers from his fatigue and pitches a few more times. New York's pitcher is still at 20(43). Boston and New York then meet in the Major League playoffs. Boston's pitcher is about ready to go at 98(100). New York's pitcher is still at 20(43).

In summary, the single most unrealistic element of the the game is the passage of time at one level, but not others, and during the playoffs, on some teams, but not others.

Seems pretty silly to keep this bug
A) to solve a problem which isn't really a problem, which it really doesn't solve anyway, and
B) which effects teams differently depending on whether they are still live in minor league playoffs

On a related note, I found a picture of JabbaThe23's top pitching prospect.

Cheer up, Han, he'll thaw you out in time for spring training.

They would be.  If they were sitting on the BL bench, traveling with the team, taking some BP.

They wouldn't be if the BL team said "The minor league season is over.  We're not bringing you up.   Get ready for next year."

Again, we have the option to call up anyone on the 40.  They do not have to play(I have 11 of them on my Mantle bench).  They will recover.  They will be sent down when my playoff run is over.  Until then, they sit on my BL bench.

Seriously, other than roster manipulation, there is NO REASON not to call up anyone you might need in the playoffs.   NONE.

I take that back.  3 of them got an AB in a blowout in the AM game. I only have 8 who have yet to play.

FWIW, this problem also exists for the period between the end of spring training and the beginning of the minor league season.  Major leaguers gain fatigue recovery during the "Prepare for Regular Season" days, while minor leaguers do not.

So if a minor league pitcher appears in the final ST game and ends up at 20(43), he starts the minor league season six HBD cycles later at 20(43) when he should be at 100.

This is the real problem.

Because it's important to have all minor leaguers are 100% when the minor league season starts?

Yes

It's not important, but it's stupid that they appear to exist in a different time continuum than major leaguers.

I asked customer support about this issue, but specifically with respect to spring training. They said it was a mistake on their part and that it would be corrected in the next update.

That was three years ago.

You folks do realize it's all based around the generated schedule, right?

For instance, MG AAA starts on 8/15.  First day on the minor league schedule.  When your minor league season ends, there is no schedule.   No fatigue recovery when there are no scheduled games/off days.

I know what the problem is. I'm saying it should be fixed.

Perhaps customer support lives in a different time continuum.
