I could have sworn I'd seen a first play boot, a big inning and all runs being given unearned run status.    More than once.   But, truth is, I don't read the boxes like I did the first few HBD seasons.

  N.Tenbrink grounds out to 1B.  
  R.Quentin fields the groundball but makes a bad throw to 1B. E.Eaton reaches on the throwing error.

DP J.Murata grounds it thru the hole to LF for a single.
 
DP F.Mendez hits a groundball single to RCF. E.Eaton scores. D.Schmidt scores.
 
DP J.Ferrer pops out to 1B.
 
  G.Hernandez hits a line drive single to RCF. J.Murata scores.
 
  G.Lockwood crushes a 3-run homer to RF.  
  S.Archer grounds out to 1B.  


All runs were scored as unearned.

I guess maths is hard for you today.

Six runs scored that inning.  One was earned (Schmidt scoring on Mendez's hit).  The other five were unearned.

Your pitcher, Heffner, was only charged with 5 unearned runs.

Well, obviously since I said it was the 4th inning and I thought 5 runs scored.   Nonetheless,  Ferrer should have been the third out.   Hernandez and Lockwood scored after that on clean hits.   What part of this am I not understanding?

Mendez's single scored 2 runs, and without the error, it's just 1 run.  Ferrer makes the 2nd (3rd) out.  5 more runs scored because of the error.  Without the error, it's just 1 run.

All runs that score after what would have been the third out (if not for errors) are unearned.
