What Do You Think Of The New HBD Design? Topic

As good as the updates may be.....all in all will it help fill all the open spots in the worlds.  Many worlds  seem to be waiting forever to fill... The update looks good, but I am just a part time player....I am sure the avid players and the pro's will have a better idea on the new updates.  I don't use a phone to play on here...and never will. I like some others will give it a shot for the current seasons I have and see what happens after that.

My world has not started its current season so I have yet to formulate a complete opinion. My first worry is too much clutter can actually be a negative not a positive. Keep it simple keep it stupid. I thought GD made things to difficult and time consuming and that lost some players because of that.

One thing I don't like about the new interface is the old interface you could sort worlds alphabetically and also by where they are in their current season. I am not sure why they junked that feature.

Minor complaint: I miss having a link to the forums on the HBD office page.

Seems like there's enough real estate to link to Main-Sim Matchup-Sim League-Dynasty-Forum between the HBD logo and the sitemail-account info links.

This is there, it's in a dropdown.  Scroll over the three lines to the left of the WiS logo.

Yep, but I agree with travis.  Having a direct link rather than navigating through a dropdown would be better.  And as travis has pointed out, there's a lot of space to put it there.

I was fortunate on the timing of the update. All of my teams were simming games, and I didn't have to figure out the new UI while handling Free Agency, Coach Hiring, the Draft, etc.  I've spent a great deal of time exploring the new site on my mobile (XT1060 MotoX), and I am starting to really like it. It was very cumbersome at first, but now I can check 3 teams just as quick, if not a little quicker, than before.

As someone who wouldn't be able to play HBD without a mobile, I think its a win.

When you sort player stats on the team pages it doesn't sort it correctly - it sorts based on the first digit of the stat rather than the value.  For example, 6 IP will appear above 34 IP in the sort.

I will post more later when I have the time but I have been playing WIFS for a long time and I absolutely hate the new interface. I don't find it user friendly, can't see what I want where I want when I want and am instead forced to see things I don't want to see when I don't want to see them. I am going to give it a little bit of time but I have already (since the change) spent less then 25% of my normal time on the site. I would really like the option to go back to the old interface if allowed...
I think this is key "spent less then 25% of my normal time on the site"

I can't put a percentage on it but it's a lot less time for me.    I don't like the layout of the front page, what I want to see is on the bottom, and line-up changes are a pain in the ***.  I left an injured player on my roster because I just didn't feel like messing with it.   I've tried to be fair and look at it as if I was a first-time user.   Pretty sure I still wouldn't like it.   If I want to move my lead-off hitter to 6th, I don't want to swap him with the 6 hitter, who I want to move to 5th, who I want to move to 3rd, who I want to move to 4th, who I want to move to 1st.   I'd like to put little numbers by their name and be done with it.

And rest is worse.   If I can rest a pitcher without clicking and scrolling, why can't I rest a position player like that?

But, as I said, I've got 60 days to renew a team that's not already renewed.   Maybe they'll make some changes, maybe I'll learn to love the new format.  We shall see.

I've spent enough time with it now that I'm used to the new functionality and I'm ok with it. What I haven't adjusted to is the color scheme/contrast/legibility. Might just be my tired old eyes, but the newer theme is just plain harder for me to pick up on on. The old graphics may have been dated, but the colors were big & bold and contrasted with one another really well.

By the time you're done moving the first guy around you don't even know where you wanted him to start with. They need to change this clusterfuck. Bring back the damn numbers please.

This is me as well.  I've always used this site as a diversion.  Sometimes I like to have a drink or three, and tool around with my teams, planning for the future, etc.  This new layout puts me in the mind of a work project that I have to do.   Not trying to be dramatic, but I'm pretty sure this is going to drive me off the site pretty soon unless they give us the option of going back to the old format.

Sorting is broken on a lot of pages.

Didn't read a lot of this. This has probably been posted before.

I'm not saying the changes will drive me away.   I switched from IE and everything seems to work fine.   No big deal there.   But, if I'm reluctant to make roster moves because some are just more pain in the *** than I like, I'm not sure there's much reason to stay.   After, roster moves/line-up adjustments are pretty much the game.  But, again, I have 59 days before a franchise I would renew is due up.   A lot can change by Christmas.

I'm kind of on the negative side toward this change. I like some things and dislike other things. I think it should have been incorporated a little at a time. It would have made for an easier transition and allowed for user feedback to focus on a few items at a time.

I know that the main (at least stated reason) for the change was to encourage and improve mobile usage. If that has worked then so be it. I don't use my phone to access this site very often. So I realize the change was not intended to make me happy.

I don't intend to switch browsers or make compatibility changes to my computers just to satisfy WIS. I do hope that there will be some additional changes made to improve my experience because it has deteriorated.

The fact that they plan daily fixes is a plus. Not just for the bug repairs, but as a sign that they give a crap about their current customers in addition to attracting new ones. If they can address 50% of the issues people are having and still make the game more attractive to tablet/phone junkies, it's probably a good deal overall.
