Picking near the end can still work out. I thought for sure that the person picking first in round 2 would get Greg Maddux. I was surprised the Braves' SPs went since they can only use ONE Greg Maddux and I don't see a lot of pitchers to be used across 5 leagues. There are a bunch of teams with strong enough pitching staffs where there are more than one pitcher who is worth a wildcard pick.

When I recently ran a six league tournament that mpitt took part in, there was a period before the season started where he did not open sitemails for a week or so. Just something to factor in. I doubt he's MIA, just might've not expected us to fill so quickly after being dormant for a while.

I remember that now. He opened sitemail notifying him of draft starting but nothing since.

There's more Braves to pick from when you consider the franchise in two other cities. That being said, I forgot you could only use a player once, so yes I was planning on using Maddux in all five seasons. Lesson learned.

I have to run out now and won't be back til 5:30. I will make my 5:00 pick now. If there is any objections I will change it when I get back.
